Title: Defrost

I just bought from a farmer for the first time today, the meat is frozen , can I defrost at room tempature?

Yes you may. I usually take it out of the plastic bag when already possible.

I thaw food at room temperature when necessary. Part of the "official" advice is to defrost frozen meat slowly in the refrigerator so you won't get bacterial growth during the time it takes to defrost the meat, but I don't follow that advice. In general, I'm not refrigerator crazy. I don't think it is necessary with good quality foods.

Ok I bought 4 pounds of liver, there separated in 4 vacuum seals so i have 4. My question is if I take them all out of the plastic to put in a glass bowl is it okay? Because they may be from a different cow is it okay if the other cows livers mix with the other cows livers?
