I am seriously considering buying such a device as I live in a flat, and am therefore unable to raise chickens etc. and, other than raw wild game and raw wildcaught seafood, often have to compromise as regards eggs. The way I see it, all I would need to do is regularly shove the biological remains of my food(eg:- organic banana peels etc.) into the device to feed the insects, and this get c. 200g-500g a day of edible insects. Not bad...

I believe that is called a mealworm tower.
I once tried to raise mealworms in a container, but then I lost insterest so they all suffocated in the smell of their own feces.

That's weird. All my mealworms turned into happy little beetles. However, it's been months and the beetles won't spawn.

Livin also sell fungi farms. I'm hoping they will diversify. Right now I am expecting some air-purifying plants and will see if I can be competent re watering them etc. If so, I will get the Livin farm boxes and carry on from there.

Meal worm aren't my favorite, they'r ok though, but I'd rather have sago worm... Really, the person who'll manage to sell them as food or as kit to grow them WILL make some money***hint***
They are always sold out, extremely expensive... That's because the demand is much higher than the supply. I've heard that in Thailand they are farmed using a sago palm pulp, they're not that difficult apparently to farm... They are extremely tasty and popular among people of S E Asia, Central and Latin America, Africa... This is high quality stuff, these people would not bother with meal worms.
In Asia you can see the insects they sell for tourists (deep fried cricket, scorpions, beetles etc)... But in the tourists stall you won't find the sago worms, for that you need to go to the local market, Thais really like to keep the best for themselves, (unless they can make lots of money of it) the Thai laugh behind our backs, tourists think they tried something SO local...

Reminds me of a lecture given by an Indian to a European audience of a Libtard persuasion. He would point out how, in the mass agricombine factories in the Indian Subcontinent, the workers would routinely sweep up the remains of leaves and other dirt from the floor and put it all into the teabags for sale to the rest of the world. You could tell that the Liberal audience did not like to hear this sort of thing, as they had been brought up to believe in all this nonsense that Europeans etc. were the only villains in the 3rd World.
