Title: Laughable Quarter Pounder Hamburgers
Post by: goodsamaritan on August 02, 2009, 12:24:02 pm
I've used the wifi access in one of those hamburger chains and saw them advertising their QUARTER POUNDERS as if it was a big deal that their burger patty weighed 1/4 pounds when raw, but a lot less when cooked.

Looking back a few years ago I thought that was a big deal.  Now I think 1/4 pound of beef is so ridiculously small I'd go hungry.

It's all a matter of perspective.

1.5kg! 1 kilo is the max I eat of any 1 meat(though I might eat more in the form of eggs or fruit but not meat). 1.5kg would leave me bloated and lacking appetite for days.

I tended to always do better to pick a piece of meat out, and either have the butcher grind it for me, or take it home and grind it myself if I wanted something to resemble a hamburger.  I find it a little laughable that when people eat McDonalds' Quarter Pounder, that they eat part they stay far away from otherwise.

I'm sorry, but I have never bought a fast food burger.  If I had access as a kid I might have.  Maybe I should be thankful that I didn't.
