Post by: kurite on March 09, 2010, 07:14:14 am
Just thought i'd show this video I found. I just found it funny that almost all of the worlds most athletic people eat a diet thats pretty close to a paleo diet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY9ceulkVzs&NR=1

I have doubts about your claim kurite that most top athletes eat a somewhat paleo diet.

I think from what I gather from surfing Mark Sisson's site is that more athletes ARE doing a cooked paleo/primal approach - even endurance athletes to some degree - but I agree I think its untrue that most athletes eat paleo.
but yeah Crossfit -from past research - seems to be very much tied to Cordain-type paleo diet

You mean just the athletes featured in the video or do you mean the majority of the worlds athletes across the globe?I am willing to bet that most top athletes eat a Neolithic diet

No all I meant were all the ones featured on this video. I found it interesting because this isn't a paleo video its just a video about these athletes diet.

Yes, probably because the most influential CrossFitter on diet was Rob Wolff (he has since left CrossFit), who is a friend of Dr. Cordain's. Ironically, Dr. Cordain's team is gradually evolving away from the lean approach:
