Title: How little carbs do you have to eat to activate Ketosis
Post by: Techydude on March 07, 2011, 05:07:27 pm
I've heard of ketosis basically burning protein, now what if you're a low carber only getting carbs from veg and not fruits. Like say 20-40g carbs daily max. Will Ketosis still occur then?

I think ketosis will only occur if carb intake is very low (as you mentionend) AND your fat intake is high enough. Very high amounts of protein (lean meat) can inhibit ketosis.
