Title: Reliable Methods to Determine One's Health
Post by: zeno on June 26, 2011, 12:09:06 pm
I'm curious of the ways that members of this board determine their health. Of course there is the most readily accessible technique of observation, but what are some of the other trusted methods of observing one's health?

Those that come to mind: blood test, cholesterol test (event though the idea of cholesterol is debatable here), fitness test. Are there any other methods that are good ways to determining one's health?

You wake up and bounce out of bed refreshed.

You run and run and run and are surprised you aren't tired like you used to.

Your sexual performance is better than it has ever been.

You are glowing with health and everyone notices it.

I thought of two more: blood glucose test and blood pressure test.

You mentioned "reliable" methods, and I would consider none of the medical tests as measures I would want to rely on. GS's benchmarks make more sense. Mine are:

You wake up and bounce out of bed refreshed.

You work all day, get home and play with your granddaughter, clean the house, and are surprised when it's time for bed and you aren't dead tired...

You enjoy the work-week as much as you enjoy the weekends.

You feel mentally healthy, joyful, enthusiastic, alert, peaceful, patient - never depressed, never anxious.

You wear no make-up, no hair-color, yet people guess your age to be 20 years younger than you actually are.
