Title: Paleo Green Smoothie Recipes
Post by: vrodmuscle on June 22, 2012, 06:32:16 am
Hi,

I love green smoothies, have been blending them for sometime now, always looking for new recipes to try, the more nutritious the better.

Here's a video I made of one of my fav recipes for a paleo smoothie, take out the avocado or use half of one if you want to lower the calories:

What recipes do you use?

Gelatinous maca - never heard of it before. Maybe I'll try that because regular maca sure is bitter. I've always hated adding greens to my smoothies, but maybe I'll try your recipe with less kale and see what it does/how it tastes. Only problem is that will be way too much for me. I'll have to at least half the recipe.

So  vrod - are you a raw paleo as in eating raw animal foods too?  I guess technically blending isn't paleo - but the ingredients in your smoothie are -- at least for paleos that also eat carbs like I do.

Do you make your own almond milk? Do you sweeten it with anything?

I don't use recipes usually.  I think there are some good ones in Recipe for Living Without Disease.  I can't drink kale smoothies  -v with any kind of sweet or sour fruit or any kind of milk etc except maybe lemon. I create as I go. If I were to use maca in a smoothie, I think I'd add cream and soaked vanilla bean.  I rarely ever make smoothies any more.  Good luck! :) and welcome!!
