Title: Fruits in Season August 2012 – Name that Fruit
Post by: goodsamaritan on August 19, 2012, 07:42:11 pm

I just did some shopping last night at Farmers Market in Cubao, Quezon City and look what I found! Name that fruit!

Input your comments below. Hint… one fruit is commonly sold as a vegetable… but since it has seeds in it, it is technically a fruit.

A great healer once taught me: “Follow the fruits in season” …and you will find health.

I could heal people too, if we had access to awesome fresh high-quality fruit, meat, and seafood all the time, like you do.  I'm a little jealous.  Heh.

First picture:
- the dark brown fruit is avocado
- the red fruit and the dirtier 2 fruits are mabolo
- the greenish yellowish spikey fruit is marang
- the yellow / orange 3 fruits are chessa
- the green thing is a squash
- the spikey brown fruit is the smelly durian

2nd picture:
- both bananas are the SABA variety, from different sources, the darker ones my father in law bought.
- the apples are fuji apples, imported
- the hairy red fruit is rambutan
- the small round fruits at the bottom are called lanzones

3rd picture:
- you know oranges,
- the green round fruit is a variety of citrus grown locally it is called a dalanghita
- the mangoes are the oblong fruits
- and the big fruit is a papaya
- embedded almost covered by an orange is a lemon

First time to try eating raw squash fruit... ripe.  That one in the picture.

Holy cow!  It was just like eating a MELON!

Squash is awesome and should be an integral part of my raw paleo diet.
