Title: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Food Rights, by David Gumpert

Not too long ago I finished the book Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Food Rights, by David Gumpert. A fantastic read, it tells the tale of many small farmers, particularly dairy farmers, throughout the United States who are running afoul of the USDA, FDA and various state agencies while attempting to market nutrient dense foods direct to consumers. The book articulates frighteningly well the bizarre regulations we have to contend with here that are obviously written to favor large producers while ostensibly protecting consumers from food borne illnesses. Of particular interest, Aajonus Vonderplanitz is featured heavily throughout the book by virtue of his role in organizing Rawsome and working to defend farmers who supplied it.
I have a review of the book (http://www.howericlives.com/resources/life-liberty-and-the-pursuit-of-food-rights/) up on my website, for those who want a more detailed analysis.
