a. I eat over a pound of carrots somedays and I have no problems with it.
b. I didn't know I was slightly allergic to gluten and dairy until about a year ago and I was scared too but after a while you stop missing SAD foods. Don't worry about the calcium issue, this was something that always concerned me a little bit to but I feel great without dairy. Although almond milk is fine I don't think to many members here drink it as it isn't a whole food. I wouldn't drink rice milk or eat sprouted grain bread because grains are exactly what we are trying to avoid.
c. I personally consume smoothies all the time but they are made up of whole fruit and some raw honey. The further you are from processed stuff the better.

Thanks for the reply.  Pardon my ignorance ... what does "SAD" mean?

Why not a grassfed or wild raw meat smoothie with gland meats?  What are the ingredients in Garden of Life's RAW MEAL (33 grams of Protein + 12 grams of Fiber)

GOL's RAW MEAL is a protein powder meal replcement.  Chock full of ONLY organic greens + organic berries + coconut.  It's Raw, Vegan, G-Gree, Dairy Free, Lactose free no fillers, preservatives, etc.  Best powder I could find.  Brand new.  Check it out online.

?  I eat pretty simple foods and so haven't needed to read labels in a long time.  Where do you get the rice milk?  Do you sprout it?  Cook it first?  Are you eating any meat yet?  Or if you are, is any of it raw?  No arthritis from OJ?  Is the OJ from concentrate?

Almond or Rice milk available @ most grocery stores.  Like RAW MEAL, it's no dairy, vegan, etc.,

Am eating pretty basic foods. Fruits, raw or steamed veggies, lots of chicken, some beef.

So far, it's working.  Really love this program.  Just trying to wrap my brain around it.

How are you doing?  Have you gotten a chance to look around the forum much?  Is your approach starting to fit into any of the categories (raw weston price, instincto etc)?

This place is bountiful with info.  WOW!  Had no ideas there were so many Paleo versions.  Figuring that out now.  Am probably eating too much fruit, but Paleo Book says we can have "all the fruits + non-starchy vegetables you want.

Appreciate the resource.  Amazing how much better REAL food tastes once you stop eating the the processed crapola.

Loving Paleo!   Only had 30 lbs. to lose + have lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks.  Very satifying and incredibly pallette cleansing + a terrific appetite suppresant, the way I am doing it.  Truly get the concept, but have a "ummmmms"  to overcome.

Couple of questions to validate what I now love:

a)  are *carrots* a good or even great choice for an unlimited snack?  Love the cold/crunch/fullfillment, but someone said they maybe aren't the right choice.  Ahh, please say it ain't so.

b)  leaving out dairy + bread forever TOTALLY scares just a tad.  I don't miss it, but wonder if my body does.  Almond or Rice Milk ok ???  What about Ezekiel Sprouted Grain bread?  Worried my bones might need the dairy ... I have osteoarthritis and other spine concerns, and need to MAKE SURE.

c)  I make a 'Morning Smoothie' using Garden of Life's RAW MEAL (33 grams of Protein + 12 grams of Fiber).  I add OJ, few frozen berries + fruits, few concentrated fruit juices like Pomegrante + Black Cherry, flaxseed + cod liver oils.  Sometimes even Almond Butter or sliced almonds to make it super thick if I'm extra hungry.  Biggest calorie meal of day, but it's working + is sooooo good!

Anyone see anything wrong with my Smoothie?

Hope I haven't overloaded the board.  Look forward, and appreciate the exchange.

Hi all!

Am already on gluten-free and know all about Jordan Rubin's program.  What's confusing me here is the Phase 1, or what I call ... "Bootcamp".

*** What's in, what's out.

Am verrrry compliant, as long as I know the RULES.

I swear I cannot afford yet another book.

Would appreciate just-the-facts on the BOOTCAMP part.  Only have 20 to lose;  25-30 preferred.

Sooooooo much appreciated.  No major recipes needed, just the basics.

Thanks, one-and-all.  Everyone have a great day!
