Health / Re: Raw blood (lamb and goat)
« on: July 23, 2023, 03:36:18 pm »
To add:

The day I got the headache I didn’t notice until later that the air quality was bad that day from fires. But I stopped drinking the blood that day thinking headache was possibly from iron. So, I do not know if the body aches are from iron overload or from stopping drinking the blood.

Does anyone else have any experience with drinking raw blood daily? Derek? How often do you drink it?

One other note: 2 of the animals were a friends that we butchered at the same time. They didn’t want to keep the blood and they don’t eat raw. I should have marked which belonged to which but wondering if maybe it was just the blood from their animal since I’d opened a fresh jar on the third animal. Maybe they’d given some sort of meds or something and just didn’t tell me.

Since this was my first time slaughtering and butchering and my first time drinking blood, a lot of new experiences so I apologize for asking anything ignorant.

Health / Raw blood (lamb and goat)

Hey, everyone! Question/concern.

It’s been years in the making and I have finally slaughtered and butchered my first set of goats and lambs myself at home. Six animals in all. I collected the blood. I have drank about 1 cup a day for about 2 and 1/2 weeks. I am wondering if it’s possible to overload on iron.

I figure most people don’t have access to this much blood at once. I was trying to take it as slow as possible as this is my first time consuming raw blood. Halfway through the third week I got a headache and then I got body aches all over. This was after opening a new jar from the third animal.

Just wondering if the beach ache and body aches are an iron overload. I have consumed the blood from two entire animals in 2 and 1/2 weeks and about 1 cup from the third animal. Two sheep, one goat.

For reference, I am a woman and am relatively small and short in height.

I stopped consuming the blood one night when I got a headache (I never get them) and thought I better stop consuming it for awhile. The following four to five days have been a lot of body aches and some very slight abdominal pain. This is all unusual for me.

Could it be an overload of iron? Does anyone else have any experience with consuming large amounts of blood in a short time frame. I felt amazing until I didn’t.

Thanks for any feedback!

Health / Tinnitus and Earache Won’t Go Away

Hello all! I’ll keep this short. I have a prolonged bout of tinnitus and earache in both ears. Does anyone have any food recommendations for helping to heal the ears and reduce inflammation?

I wouldn't totally write off red meat just yet. Fish can work for some people, but obtaining good quality and the right fat profile can be very difficult and expensive, unless you have a direct source.

Perhaps you are still eating other foods which are increasing your overall immune sensitivity and triggering red meat allergies?

I would recommend doing a couple day water fast, followed by a very small portion of a pasture raised fatty cut of red meat.....to see if you still react to red meat when the body isnt being affected by any other food?

If that doesn't work I would recommend trying various other types of meat in small mono meal amounts...to see which animal food may best suit your body....If beef doesn't work out so well, then try sheep, goat, wild game, or fowl.

Thanks so much for responding to all of you. I had written replies previously and they would never post. @Sabertooth, I am going to try your advice with the water fast. I am still eating other foods and haven’t completely transitioned over yet. I have cut most grains out and most veggies and fruit because of allergic reactions. I can have blueberries. I’ve been depending a lot on raw milk and kefir for the last month. I have been having raw eggs but have allergic reactions to them. I breakout into hives on my neck and chest. I have started having raw beef marrow and seem to be fine so far but I’m eating it in small amounts.

I haven’t tried high meat yet. I am both scared to eat it and to prepare it. I’m afraid I won’t do it right. I’m afraid I’ll get sick when I eat it. I’m afraid of screwing something up in the preparation and killing myself.

Any advice for how to overcome this fear? I’ve read about how to make it. I’m just a bit scared to actually do it. I’m also worried about what my family will think. Lol.

Would frozen salmon work or would it need to be fresh caught? I don’t really have access to fresh trustworthy seafood, am allergic to red meat, and have no desire at all  to try chicken raw much less high.

Thank you to all for the in depth responses! I’m glad to hear that others have healed allergies/intolerances to food with raw.

Hello, everyone!

I am wondering if anyone has some advice for how to possibly get over food allergies by healing your body and increasing immunity.

I have allergies to eggs, dairy,  and red meat. Makes eating raw a bit difficult. Especially in regards to eggs. I avoid red meat except for on occasion. I break out in hives and get itchy both inside and out whe. I eat red meat.

I think I either have low immunity or an overactive immune response to certain food proteins. Has anyone experienced healing of/from their allergies from going raw? Raw eggs are such an easy and accessible food for just about anyone but I have a definite immune response when I eat them. My ears start ringing, I get a rash, and I get an intense headache and some aching in my joints.

I am trying to build up eating them slowly, so I don’t know if I’m overdoing it. I’m just wondering if anyone has “cured” allergies to animal products by eating raw and if they have any advice about maybe what the best foods are to focus on for overall healing.

Thanks in advance! :)

Also, I read that fresh water fish are a bad idea to eat raw? I’d be particularly worried about that here in East TN where we’ve had a few coal ash spills and the Oak Ridge nuclear plant lies right up-stream.

I don’t mind paying a bit for the fresh seafood. I’ve had a sashimi “addiction” for years. Lol

Do you have a good recommendation for the 100% grassfed beef/bison farms that deliver?

Hello all!

I have just started transitioning to a raw paleo diet. I am coming from a year and a half of veganism, followed by reintroducing chicken and fish for the last six months.

I was diagnosed last year with multiple allergies (most of them to plants) but also a supposed allergy to dairy, eggs, AND red meat. I decided to get off of veganism and take it easy with chicken, seafood, and some green veggies for awhile and recently I’ve decided to reintroduce red meat, dairy, and eggs to see if the allergist was correct. Long story short...I think the allergist was full of bullshit.

I have had red meat a few times and have tolerated it just fine. I just reintroduced dairy in the form of Kefir and raw milk cheese and have been doing great with those. I have also been having raw eggs. The next step I’d like to take is to start figuring out how to have raw red meat in my diet. I eat and LOVE sashimi and always have (except for that vegan stint lol). I have always eaten my steaks and even hamburgers rare so I think I have a good foundation in understanding at least somewhat how raw tastes.

My concern is sourcing the right types of meats. I live in Knoxville TN and there are a few organic and local stores around...but I just want to make sure that I know where to start and how to avoid any pitfalls or mistakes. I also have a lot of questions.

Can anyone help mentor me in this journey? I have looked for info online but so far all I have found is this forum. Everything else tells you you will die if you eat raw meat. Lol. So, not a lot of info or guidance.

Happy to be here!

Es Branson
