well just got back from the doctor.  they gave a shot in the butt and i have the pills that i have to take for 10 days.  i hope no-one does like me in the future.  please go see a doc as soon as you think something is wrong.  because I waited for ten days, the doctor took a look at my testicles and was like wow! I haven't seen advanced epididymitis like this in about 2 years.  so, the disease went into an advanced state very rapidly while i was trying to get myself together.  thank goodness they have a cure for it.

Given that animals in the wild on natural diets also get disease, it's clear that a RAF diet can't protect against any and all conditions. However, there is unequivocal proof, given  the multitude of scientific studies out there that cooking produces heat-created toxins such as AGEs/nitrosamines/heterocyclic amines etc. And these toxins have been shown to be  involved in either producing unusual illnesses not present in wild animals(eg:- type 2 diabetes etc.) or in exacerbating age-related or auto-immune-related conditions. So, the best one can say about cooking is that the less one cooks, the fewer toxins are created.
Yes sir, that's part of what I wanted to point out amidst my depressing ramblings.
I guess what I'm saying is that if all you have is an issue with STDs, then modern medicine can sort that out. But modern medicine cannot solve many human-specific problems such as senile dementia, or they can only provide a poor substitute(such as inserting artificial hips made out of titanium for older people with bone-problems). So, should you come across non-infectious health-issues, then RPD is a solution.
Totally agree with you!
Up to a point, RAF diets should really only be attempted when other avensues have been exhausted - after all, doing a RAF diet can be difficult to carry out in a social environment with non-RAFers(probably easy in Los Angeles an similiar RAF havens), so it's best to do it when young only if one has a health-problem, or, when around c.40, to ward off/minimise  otherwise inevitable health-problems in a future old-age.
yeah, only do it in a RAF haven, since that makes things much easier as far as getting a wide variety of food.  I know it won't happen because of money but it would be nice if one day, some doctor(s) started making connections with this and actually started curing diseases.

On the other hand, at least for me anyway, I feel free to finally have a bit of somewhat "closure" on my diet journey.  I honestly don't forsee this (diet) as being a major worry for me for quite some time to come.  what a relief!

I think I'm going to give this up.  I've been thinking a lot as always about a lot of things.  Especially now since I've been bedridden with this disease.  Tomorrow, I'm going to the doctor to taken the antibiotics for chlamydia & associated epididymitis.  (<- the swelling is epididymitis)  That'll be two pink azithyromycin pills, one intramuscluar shot of Ceftriaxone, and 2 doxycycline pills a day for 10 days.  Yay!!

Right now at this point in my life, I've come to conclusion that this diet makes no sense for me.  In spite of my full-fledged 100% advocating for this way of eating, there just isn't enough known about this diet yet to be undertaken in a serious way such as I have attempted wholeheartedly to-date 7 times I believe.  I eat to survive and I eat that which is tasty and available to me wherever I am in the world.  I have no solid time tested proof that going 100% RAF will cure anything or make me better in any way.  You see, I guess I was trying to be a hero like seesawsemiology pointed out above.  I believe in this diet so much that I was willing to experiment on myself to test its effectiveness and thereafter spread the good word if successful.  However, I am alone in a journey in which I know nothing of.  I have no first hand experience/knowledge regarding RAF and STD and no-one else does either.  My decision to go take the meds tomorrow makes me so depressed.  Depressed about everything concerning my situation.  I personally think all these uncurable diseases are created by mankind.  To kill of certain races, accidental, etc., I don't know but they had to have been created.  For me, my problem area is STDs.  I've only contracted Chlamydia and this was from sleeping with prostitutes in the PI.  In the 70-80s, you could have sex with multiple partners without the slightest worry about contracting a disease but in this day and age, something so beautiful and so natural has become so so very complicated.  I can't describe how depressing that is to me.  :'(  Our answer - our modern-day money hungry clueless medical community.

Even so, my confidence in the medical community is coming back to me.  My dream as a kid was to be a heart surgeon since I had heart problems as a child.  I loss this desire when I became aware of how corrupt some doctors were and only wanted money.  What I'm trying to get to here is that the work of the medical profession is for the most part time-tested and works. (for curable diseases, that is)  I'm such an all-or-nothing type of person.  That's why I keep trying to do 100% raw paleo cold turkey with failure each time.  It hurts my pride/ego every time I failed.  I was like I'm such a loser, I can't even control MY own body.  But as I said in an earlier post, I think the main point is enjoying what you're doing.  Even though, I know the dangers of gymnastics/boarding, I still do it.  If I get hurt, I take care of the injury until it's better and do the activity again.  I think it's the same way with food.  Why should I not give my body what it wants?  If it tastes good, eat it.  I still feel we should control what goes in our food/bodies but mainly what I"m referring to here is the cooking of food.  I want to make very clear that I'm not putting down this diet in any way, I LOVE this diet and pursue it in the very distant future but I thought this diet would heal me of illness/diseases.  Now I don't know that it will/won't/or hasn't but I can't be a hero and I won't wait alone trying to find out.

Well, I'm rambling quite a bit, so please forgive me.  I've mentioned in other threads about my plans to move to the PI with my family and start a farm there in a couple of years.  I think when that time finally comes and more "solid-proof" is revealed concerning RAF and curing diseases, then I will most certainly return to this way of eating.  However for now and a couple of years to come, I'm returning to my old way of eating.  I hope someone finds this helpful and not all blab.

Well I have been diagnosed with chlamydia.  It sucks.  The doctor says I just need to take two azithromycin pills but like I said in another thread I really want to beat this the natural way.  I'm back on the diet again, also.  100% raw paleo.  A couple of things:

A couple of days ago, I went off the diet after five consecutive successful days of 100% raw paleo.  During that time, I didn't have the burning sensation when I urinated and no other symptoms were present with the exception of dark yellow semen when I ejaculated.
About three-four days after I went off the diet I noticed a bit of blood coming from my penis.  Just a little bit and only one time after I ejaculated.  Also, just two days ago, I noticed that my right testicle was really swollen. (and still is)  It is very painful.  For the last two days I have been back on the diet and I have done nothing but stay in bed pretty much all day because of the pain.  I also have no desire to eat anything.  I think this is because my body is in attack mode trying to destroy the viruses.

This really sucks because it's very painful but on a bright note, I'm kinda glad I get to really test this way of eating.  I do believe in this diet but sometimes I wonder does it really matter in the big scheme of things.  I mean we all do things for pleasure that are bad for us even while being on this diet.  I skydive, skateboard, do gymnastics, etc.  I could easily die on one of my jumps, I've sprained my ankle numerous times skateboarding, and to date I have dislocated both shoulders two times doing back hand springs.

I'm a big fan of the saying "live in the moment!" because tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.  My gf always asks me 'if you advocate living in the moment, then why are eating like that?'  She feels that everyone should do what they want now since you never know what awaits you.  That argument is the main reason I haven't lasted more than five days on this diet.  I WILL last more than five days this time though since I have something to prove to myself and her as well.  I have never seen or heard of anyone curing themselves by diet of an STD so I guess I'll have to be the first one.  I figure if others can cure themselves of diabetes or other deadly diseases by diet alone then why should STDs be any different...

P.S. - When I state ejaculation in the above post, that refers to me masturbating.  I don't want anyone to think that I'm spreading my virus to anyone because I'm not.

PrimaD, after you tried the raw paleo diet for 2-3 mths, did your health improve?
No, I was quoting a RAF doctor that I read about last year.  I read that he would get all his patients eating RAF for an extended period before he even saw them for diagnosis, treatment, whatever.  Personally I keep bouncing between RAF and cooked.  My latest attempt just ended a couple of minutes ago.  (5 days - which is my longest attempt to date :) )  I guess I'm not strong enough yet.  I believe in this way of eating and I keep trying so I think that's the most important thing.

Glenn01 asked me if I ever got tired of eating the same thing every day.  I thought others might be interested in this as well so I'm posting my reply:
I do agree with your thoughts regarding eating when the body desires variety and eating when the body is hungry.  I also would rather not eat until I'm very hungry rather than eat raw meat at times  However I wouldn't eat the same thing at every meal on purpose.  If I have to then whatever but I am going to eat variety.  For me, the 100% RAF lifestyle means eating food in the way that it is meant to be eaten.  RAW.  That's it for me.  Food is supposed to be eaten raw, that's the only thing that matters to me.  Other than that, if it tastes good and I don't die from eating it then down the hatch it goes.  ;D  I try to keep things as simple as possible.  If I were in the wild, that's the only thing that would matter to me.

The vinegar is NOT OK, as it's almost always pasteurised. There are places online(and in some health-oriented organic food or supplement shops where one can buy unpasteurised vinegar. The best unpasteurised vinegar is any vinegar that is said to have "mother of vinegar" in it:
Just make your own raw organic vinegar.  :)

I haven't tried this but it doesn't seem very hard and I'm sure I'll get around to doing this after I start some kind of home garden or whatever.

I am so new to pemmican but I was wondering couldn't one just use this method to make pemmican:
Quote
Traditionally pemmican was prepared from the lean meat of large game such as buffalo, elk or deer. The meat was cut in thin slices and dried over a slow fire, or in the hot sun until it was hard and brittle. Then it was pounded into very small pieces, almost powder-like in consistency, using stones. The pounded meat was mixed with melted fat with a ratio of approximately 50% pounded meat and 50% melted fat. In some cases, dried fruits such as saskatoon berries, cranberries, blueberries, or choke cherries were pounded into powder and then added to the meat/fat mixture. The resulting mixture was then packed into "green" rawhide pouches for storage.
I found this on wikipedia but it seems simple and it lists this method as the traditional method so...  I guess you can melt the fat in the sun also.  I just really dislike having to use machines.  I like them to be an option not the only way.

I guess I'm the opposite here.  I eat plenty of fruits everyday.  Apples, oranges, tangelos, blueberries, blackberries, raw banana ice cream, etc.  I'm 100% RAF (tomorrow will be my 5th day consecutively and I feel good!) but I'm an "instinctive child eater".  I say this because I eat what I feel like eating just like a little child.  In the past four days, sometimes I've eaten 2 apples, 3 oranges, blueberries, banana ice cream, blackberries, and a mango all in the same day.  :P  I do try to exercise quite a bit everyday.  I love soccer.  I feel like since I'm 100% RAF I can do what I want as long as I stay 100% RAF.

12
I'd say get to a point where you've been on the RAF diet 100% for an extended period of time (2-3 months) and then get some tests done to see where you're at.  I think diet should be corrected before anything else is done period.  Oh yeah and don't forget to exercise regularly also.  After that I think it's a matter of consuming the right foods for whatever illness you have.

I think children should be banned from using most wireless devices altogether, as they do not understand the risks (nor the underlying science).
This is the main reason I plan on majoring in engineering when I start college in couple of months. (electrical I think)  I want to learn how everything works and how to build EVERYTHING.  A lot of the time it's not the fault of the children though.  Almost all of the foundational knowledge that one needs to fully understand the technology of today is hidden, intentionally kept secret.  I want to learn how to build a computer from scratch and I do mean from scratch literally.  I mean starting from wood or some kind of natural resource I can find in the wild and eventually end up with a fully functional computer or laptop or whatever.  Out of all the computer science professors that I know, none of them possess this knowledge.  Sad.  Someone knows this info but is hiding it.  I aim to find this secret info.

Have you ever heard of "Smith & Wesson"?  I'm pretty sure that will send a strong message.  Otherwise, yeah you could just eat the darn things also.  -d  my gf's family eats dogs and even in my culture (Korean) we eat dogs although I will NEVER ever eat a dog unless it's a matter of life or death. (or cat for that matter)  I love dogs too much!  cats, well not so much as you can see..

I drink well water that has been filtered through reverse osmosis (just in case) and sparkling mineral water.  The filtered water tastes really good, and our well water tasted good before filtering it.  It's nice that we don't have city water that is treated with chemicals, but at the same time, we don't have frequent testing, and well water can change over time.  The RO filter was the best $200 investment for peace of mind and better tasting water that we could have made.
Why th filter for the well water?  Well water can change over time but that might be a good thing especially considering you mentioned that it tastes good before filtering it.

I wonder how do you do it?  In another thread, you stated you get along without a cellphone and now you also have well water?  I thought maybe you live in a rural area but you're an engineer so maybe not.  Anyway, I'm just jealous that's all.  but I'll get to that point one day as well.  ;)

I don't drink water regularly either only because tap water/bottled water is filled to the brim with crap!  I know some prefer bottled water but I just don't trust it.  When I used to drink water/bottled water, it all taste the same to me.

I subscribe to the idea that humans are not drinking animals.
I have to disagree here.  I don't think there is any harm in drinking well water or water from natural springs if you have something like that near you.  That's basic instinct for me.  I plan on having a well or two on my farm in PI when I get there eventually.  my gf also told me that I can have a pool that's setup where the water in the pool comes from the water in the well or something like that.  I was like wow! a pool with natural water also.  that's going to be great!

I've noticed it can actually get people pretty upset - in the sort of way that a round world does not fit into their square hole.  I hate close minded and unimaginative people.
This is soooo true!  I rank discussion about food up there with the usual forbidden work topics i.g. religion, politics, race.  I find that people get so bent out of shape when food is the topic because they feel like you are insulting them/their diet by your diet instead of appreciating the unique difference(s).

How does this work playing against other people who wear shoes? I'm not critical. I also think barefoot makes a lot more sense. Just wondering if you run into problems doing this.
You have to be faster than they are!  People don't take it easier on you just because you're barefoot.  However it's usually not a problem for me because right now I don't think I'm going to be a pro athlete so normally I only play against really close friends or people I know fairly well.  That way there is no foul play and everyone is playing just to have a good time and get in shape.  We're not playing to kill each other.

My husband and I still don't have a cell phone.  As engineers, we just don't care for microwaves close to the brain (or genitals, etc).  It's one thing to use a gps or something that only receives, but cell phones transmit far distances, and that requires a lot of power, and when it's close to your head ... Same with wireless computers that people put on their laps, all while transmitting microwaves to far off places.  If you are going to use these devices, you should be very aware of how exactly they work and what that means to your health.  I see preteens with cell phones on all the time now!
Hmmm.  I didn't know that about cell phones/computers.  I get that feeling too when I use cellphones but I never knew why.  Maybe I'll learn about that in college this August. (I plan on double majoring in agricultural and electrical engineering if I can)

For me, the question is "how do we get back to this?"  I plan on starting a farm in PI whenever I retire and I wonder also.  I know I can go and buy some seeds and plant them and start my farm this way but how do I get back to having fruits/vegetables in their "true" manipulated form?  Maybe I should go to different places that have wild "natural" fruits, collect the seeds, and see if I can get them to grow on my farm...

goodsamaritan, I have eaten ant eggs before!   ;D  What a coincidence that you bring it up here.  I just had some about three days ago.  My gf is from Ilocos norte and her family sends us all kinds of goodies all the time.  The name for the black bugs we ate in Ilocano is "buos" and the name for the ant eggs is "Arrarawan".  (another type of beetle I tried last year is "abal abal")  Both of them are REALLY delicious!!  I really like them.  The only thing is my mother-in-law cooked them.  As I mentioned in another thread moments ago I bounce back from RAF to my filipino diet all the time.  Today is probably my 15teenth time aspiring to go 100% paleo again.  I would ask my gf's family to send me some freshly killed bugs that aren't dried or processed but they probably wouldn't be safe to eat when they arrive here in Hawai'i.  Oh well, guess I'll have to eat some fresh raw bugs when I visit there again.

I was never vulnerable to peer pressure to begin with.
Same here.  Naturally I'm an introvert so I pretty much keep to myself most of the time.  I tend to gravitate towards people who have the same views about life/interests as I do.  My gf is from the country and she grew up in the country so she's used to being around people who eat raw meat, milk, eggs, etc.  (she doesn't eat raw foods though only cooked)  My family doesn't really care what I eat as long as I'm not sick.

I feel better when I'm doing 100% paleo.  I can't speak about long term because so far I haven't been able to do 100% RAF for an extended period yet.  I keep going back for one reason or another.  (Today is my latest attempt to stay 100% paleo)  I know I'll get it too because I went through this exact same process before I became a vegan.  It took me almost 2 months of start, stop, start, stop and then I finally got it.  I was a vegan for about 16 months before I found out about RAF lifestyle.
