Given that animals in the wild on natural diets also get disease, it's clear that a RAF diet can't protect against any and all conditions. However, there is unequivocal proof, given the multitude of scientific studies out there that cooking produces heat-created toxins such as AGEs/nitrosamines/heterocyclic amines etc. And these toxins have been shown to be involved in either producing unusual illnesses not present in wild animals(eg:- type 2 diabetes etc.) or in exacerbating age-related or auto-immune-related conditions. So, the best one can say about cooking is that the less one cooks, the fewer toxins are created.Yes sir, that's part of what I wanted to point out amidst my depressing ramblings.
I guess what I'm saying is that if all you have is an issue with STDs, then modern medicine can sort that out. But modern medicine cannot solve many human-specific problems such as senile dementia, or they can only provide a poor substitute(such as inserting artificial hips made out of titanium for older people with bone-problems). So, should you come across non-infectious health-issues, then RPD is a solution.Totally agree with you!
Up to a point, RAF diets should really only be attempted when other avensues have been exhausted - after all, doing a RAF diet can be difficult to carry out in a social environment with non-RAFers(probably easy in Los Angeles an similiar RAF havens), so it's best to do it when young only if one has a health-problem, or, when around c.40, to ward off/minimise otherwise inevitable health-problems in a future old-age.yeah, only do it in a RAF haven, since that makes things much easier as far as getting a wide variety of food. I know it won't happen because of money but it would be nice if one day, some doctor(s) started making connections with this and actually started curing diseases.
PrimaD, after you tried the raw paleo diet for 2-3 mths, did your health improve? No, I was quoting a RAF doctor that I read about last year. I read that he would get all his patients eating RAF for an extended period before he even saw them for diagnosis, treatment, whatever. Personally I keep bouncing between RAF and cooked. My latest attempt just ended a couple of minutes ago. (5 days - which is my longest attempt to date ) I guess I'm not strong enough yet. I believe in this way of eating and I keep trying so I think that's the most important thing.
Glenn01 asked me if I ever got tired of eating the same thing every day. I thought others might be interested in this as well so I'm posting my reply:I do agree with your thoughts regarding eating when the body desires variety and eating when the body is hungry. I also would rather not eat until I'm very hungry rather than eat raw meat at times However I wouldn't eat the same thing at every meal on purpose. If I have to then whatever but I am going to eat variety. For me, the 100% RAF lifestyle means eating food in the way that it is meant to be eaten. RAW. That's it for me. Food is supposed to be eaten raw, that's the only thing that matters to me. Other than that, if it tastes good and I don't die from eating it then down the hatch it goes. I try to keep things as simple as possible. If I were in the wild, that's the only thing that would matter to me.
The vinegar is NOT OK, as it's almost always pasteurised. There are places online(and in some health-oriented organic food or supplement shops where one can buy unpasteurised vinegar. The best unpasteurised vinegar is any vinegar that is said to have "mother of vinegar" in it:Just make your own raw organic vinegar.
Traditionally pemmican was prepared from the lean meat of large game such as buffalo, elk or deer. The meat was cut in thin slices and dried over a slow fire, or in the hot sun until it was hard and brittle. Then it was pounded into very small pieces, almost powder-like in consistency, using stones. The pounded meat was mixed with melted fat with a ratio of approximately 50% pounded meat and 50% melted fat. In some cases, dried fruits such as saskatoon berries, cranberries, blueberries, or choke cherries were pounded into powder and then added to the meat/fat mixture. The resulting mixture was then packed into "green" rawhide pouches for storage.I found this on wikipedia but it seems simple and it lists this method as the traditional method so... I guess you can melt the fat in the sun also. I just really dislike having to use machines. I like them to be an option not the only way.
I think children should be banned from using most wireless devices altogether, as they do not understand the risks (nor the underlying science). This is the main reason I plan on majoring in engineering when I start college in couple of months. (electrical I think) I want to learn how everything works and how to build EVERYTHING. A lot of the time it's not the fault of the children though. Almost all of the foundational knowledge that one needs to fully understand the technology of today is hidden, intentionally kept secret. I want to learn how to build a computer from scratch and I do mean from scratch literally. I mean starting from wood or some kind of natural resource I can find in the wild and eventually end up with a fully functional computer or laptop or whatever. Out of all the computer science professors that I know, none of them possess this knowledge. Sad. Someone knows this info but is hiding it. I aim to find this secret info.
I can raise any livestock here except pigs.I presume because of the smell and your neighbors, right?
So did I hear that you are Korean? I love Korean people, food and culture. My son and I, both Taekwondo Jidokwan black belts, may try our hand at learning the Korean language before we test for 2nd Dan.We love you too! I don't know about the culture part though. I have Korean mom/black dad (former military) and that still doesn't go over so well with some but whatever. Ever been to Korea? (Seoul) Fun place, you should visit since you love us so much! Korean is a pretty hard language to learn from what I've been told... i'm pretty fluent from speaking with my mom and I also went to Korean school at our church growing up but you can do it if you want though..
I drink well water that has been filtered through reverse osmosis (just in case) and sparkling mineral water. The filtered water tastes really good, and our well water tasted good before filtering it. It's nice that we don't have city water that is treated with chemicals, but at the same time, we don't have frequent testing, and well water can change over time. The RO filter was the best $200 investment for peace of mind and better tasting water that we could have made. Why th filter for the well water? Well water can change over time but that might be a good thing especially considering you mentioned that it tastes good before filtering it.
I am a: Manggagamot / Filipino Traditional Healer who cures what western medicine says are incurable diseases
I've cured myself and several people of diseases so they think I may really know something.Really! What diseases have you cured that are generally considered uncurable in the West? This hits home for me because I'm battling a disease (nothing major) that I'm pretty sure I'm going to be diagnosed with. (i have received the results yet) I am hell-bent on beating this illness the natural way by my diet alone and no medication.
I don't drink water as a rule.I don't drink water regularly either only because tap water/bottled water is filled to the brim with crap! I know some prefer bottled water but I just don't trust it. When I used to drink water/bottled water, it all taste the same to me.
I subscribe to the idea that humans are not drinking animals.I have to disagree here. I don't think there is any harm in drinking well water or water from natural springs if you have something like that near you. That's basic instinct for me. I plan on having a well or two on my farm in PI when I get there eventually. my gf also told me that I can have a pool that's setup where the water in the pool comes from the water in the well or something like that. I was like wow! a pool with natural water also. that's going to be great!
I've noticed it can actually get people pretty upset - in the sort of way that a round world does not fit into their square hole. I hate close minded and unimaginative people. This is soooo true! I rank discussion about food up there with the usual forbidden work topics i.g. religion, politics, race. I find that people get so bent out of shape when food is the topic because they feel like you are insulting them/their diet by your diet instead of appreciating the unique difference(s).
How does this work playing against other people who wear shoes? I'm not critical. I also think barefoot makes a lot more sense. Just wondering if you run into problems doing this. You have to be faster than they are! People don't take it easier on you just because you're barefoot. However it's usually not a problem for me because right now I don't think I'm going to be a pro athlete so normally I only play against really close friends or people I know fairly well. That way there is no foul play and everyone is playing just to have a good time and get in shape. We're not playing to kill each other.
When I was 11 years old I could do a 6 minute mile completely untrained! That is pretty darn good! You were quite the runner!
Also, exercise is hard work and doesn't feel good!To each his own, I guess. I LOVE exercising, my body feels absolutely great but that just me i guess...
-Have trouble holding a mobile phone to my ear (it burns me about an inch inide my head) have to use loud speaker
My husband and I still don't have a cell phone. As engineers, we just don't care for microwaves close to the brain (or genitals, etc). It's one thing to use a gps or something that only receives, but cell phones transmit far distances, and that requires a lot of power, and when it's close to your head ... Same with wireless computers that people put on their laps, all while transmitting microwaves to far off places. If you are going to use these devices, you should be very aware of how exactly they work and what that means to your health. I see preteens with cell phones on all the time now!Hmmm. I didn't know that about cell phones/computers. I get that feeling too when I use cellphones but I never knew why. Maybe I'll learn about that in college this August. (I plan on double majoring in agricultural and electrical engineering if I can)
-Can't stand smelly people epecially when they wear perfumesI definitely agree with this one. I get such a headache when people wear ANY kind of fragrance. I'm even considering washing my clothes with soapnuts because the smell from the detergent my gf uses to wash our clothes gives me a headache.
I actually feel better when flying as I get less dehydrated than before.same here, I feel better. I used to get so impatient on planes but I feel calmer when doing 100% paleo.
I dream of raw paleo vacations like that one in the far flung province of Palawan. I now want nature, living with the primitive people. I have been talking to our maids about visiting their home towns with them as my tour guide. Sleep in a primitive hut and await the fishermen in the very early morning. Buy squid while it's skin still shifts its colors...Oohh! That sounds like fun! I haven't heard about Palawan yet. I'm going to look that up for my next trip there! Another must see 'natural' places in PI on your list?
i keep thinking 'nah not a big enough arse''too skinnyI ALWAYS chase thicker girls. Skeletons don't do much for me. hehe
LOL, I look at a guy now and I can see if they're deficient in Vitamin D, I can smell if their EFAs ratios are off balance, etc Smiley it's easy, now, it just comes to me, no trying.Interesting. maybe this lifestyle can up my pheromone levels and get me more attention.
I have no idea, but I've been in uncultivated areas and found fruit like oranges loaded with so many seeds, other fruit juicy and fragrant but such thin skin, I tend to believe fruit was quite different when we didn't manipulate it at all.For me, the question is "how do we get back to this?" I plan on starting a farm in PI whenever I retire and I wonder also. I know I can go and buy some seeds and plant them and start my farm this way but how do I get back to having fruits/vegetables in their "true" manipulated form? Maybe I should go to different places that have wild "natural" fruits, collect the seeds, and see if I can get them to grow on my farm...
I was never vulnerable to peer pressure to begin with.Same here. Naturally I'm an introvert so I pretty much keep to myself most of the time. I tend to gravitate towards people who have the same views about life/interests as I do. My gf is from the country and she grew up in the country so she's used to being around people who eat raw meat, milk, eggs, etc. (she doesn't eat raw foods though only cooked) My family doesn't really care what I eat as long as I'm not sick.
