Health / Re: Varicose veins
« on: August 17, 2013, 11:01:39 pm »
Any time i add too much animal or plant fats, i get varicose and easy bruises. Any time i switched to more fruit it disappears. Without changing my workout.
So this is probably not due first of all to a deficiency in vitamin K (cause very low in fruit). And i was eating eggs and liver (rich in K2) during my low carb experiments (enough ? Why some have not this problem ?)

But maybe high fat with fair amount of green veggies and some fruits could balance enough.

I think the bad circulation is related to vitamin c missing and lack of hydrogen in the diet. Also the fat making the blood more dense and the weakness of the veins if the high fat is not compensate by proper nutrients. Originals inuits had very bad circulation, they say too much omegas 3. But in my case even with plant fats and not much omegas 3, i get the same fragility.

For sure more vigorous exercises improve the flow and strenght of the veins

Some raw shellfish, wild fruits and nuts later...
Thank you Sully !

I have another question, how could you describe the difference in energy you have after fish, chicken and red meat ? (digestion, strenght...) ?

Hi Sully,

I read your interesting -but too short- blog with the nice photos of your salads while I was just eating mine with tasty cilantro, aspargus and raw shellfish, oysters and tuna :)

Did you already post somewhere about some detailed observations of the low carb experiences ?

Would like to know more about the correlation between the amount of carbs and your workouts and others aspects.
Also with how much percentage of carbs you feel the best approximately (training, skin, hair and co) if you can say.

Thank you !

Hi Tyler :)

just for saying that it is really possible to have no grey hair at around 70, my mother is one of these people, 65 and just a few (maybe 10 or less) that only her can see... She eat mostly whole food but not only, had eaten in restaurant (pizza and co) for 30 years at lunch, had made some excess, smoked for few years A LOT but she also had always been thin (never eating too much and exercise a Little bit), and cook simple when at home, but eating meat and fish no organic.

Somebody knows more about the diet of Annette Larkins ? I guess not too much fruits as it has been said here, and not that much in quantity...

I am curious to know how much meat he eats, cause maybe if he doesn't eat lots, he may have a lot of vegetables andfinds difficulties to digest its.

:)  Thanks everybody.

Tyler, I already had found those links before you reply.

For sure for the new time I will learn how to dry my meat correctly maybe do some pemmican, now time is too short.
I prefer not to eat much dried fruits and nuts as my body (specially liver, teeth and skin) don't like them at all.
I really need meat and prefer fasting a little than eating too much fruits.

Where's this evidence of hunter gatherers doing that? did aborigines or bushmen used to do that?
I know Muslims can have up to five wives.
Do you got a link wodgina? I am interested in how the eskimos and bushmen used to live. It's funny, pretty much no one follows their traditions of hunting and gathering like they used too. Modernization took over.

I wonder how their social lives were.

The choice seems to be open, some are monogams while others are polygams according to this book :

General Discussion / How can I do with meat when travelling
« on: February 21, 2011, 12:48:01 am »
Hello :)

I will go in Spain in few days for about 2 weeks.
I don't know how to do to have good meat everyday.

I plan to have an ice-box, and to take a stock with me before going,
but arrived in Spain, I will camp in a tent and wouldn't have any fridge.

So I probably will have to buy around there, or somebody have another idea ?
(I don't know how to make a box for driying the meat, neither to do pemmican, and don't have a deshydrator).

Are there som spanish (maybe near Tarragona -will be in a small village called Maella-) who can help me for finding good meat ?

Thanks

Like you I can do many more things with lit of pleasure and have greats feed-backs, connections with others. :)

Sometimes I fast and then I feel some extatics moments, every cells vibrate very intensively.

Hi Bronwen  :)

I came from fruitarianism (and after a little time in 811) and now I enjoy a lot meat.
I also do Yoga as a great passion and will start studies to become professor.
I am interested to know about if you observe some changements in your practice since you eat some meat.
At differents levels : Physical (flexibility, force...), psychological, spiritual...

My thoughts now about ehtic, is that it is not easy to be in peace with eating animals in this time of society but I'm not sure that the very ancients yogis were vegetarians.
Also cereals destroy the planet (for vegetarians) more than eating animals does (grass fedded) and eating fruits destroy our self...
We can just have the attitude of animals who eat because they need and we can added consciousness of respect and by the path of tantra take pleasure.

Feeling good with less fruits, more vegetables and lots of meat.

I've discovered a quite good plan for horse meat (vey beautiful colour, deep red) and wahouh the flesh is So good !
Some pieces are so tender it's a little like tuna but I prefer the consistance and taste of horse.
It gives me an incredible energy, very dynamic, very happy.

I'm no more ZC, but maybe when I was, the problem was the not enough good quality of the meat and my inactivity.
Maybe also too much protein (I switched my hypothesis of too much fat, because the ZC long term seem to not notice this phenomen on veins and the eat lots of fat).

 ???

Now between 0 to 6 hours a day,probably 2 hours in average
but
when I was on ZC I used to exercise less at the beginning, it might be an important aspect, but it never happened with fruitarian path, and bizarre that a friend got the same symptom.

How can we explain that meat can create varicose ? Too much fat ?

While on a ZC or high proportion of meat in the diet, a friend and I observed the apparition of little varix/varicoses veins (don't know the right term in english) on the legs  >:

What's the reason for that from your point of you ?
Some ZC people seem to have no problem with that.

I'm feeling good, mentally and physically much better than with fruitarism and better than with carnivorism.

I just think I should eat less fruits (they excitated me and tired me, specially high glucidic ones),
a little of green and vegetables
and more meat,
but where I live (in Nice) I can't find a good approvisonnement, it's kind of decouraging.

The others raw I know don't eat meat, and wild animals here cost a fool price.
I only have some fish and some lamb from new-zealand sometimes. Boring and not very satisfying.

Thinking to go to another place with better conditions (alimentation but also for more wild nature etc).
Or... learn to catch animals... (my level on this forum just change with this post for "trapper"  ;D). But I wouldn't be able to store it in the flat, so not a solution.

Same...
Fruits are ok before physique activity for me.
If I am not active physically, and eat too much fruits (specially high glucidic ones), I tend to be very distract excited and next tired.
Fat calm me and my insulin.

Sensible balance to find.

Some of my fruitarian friend say they experienced big tiredness of the body and mind with meat.
So I don't know really what to conclude for them.
But for me I know !

Happy that you like :)

Peter Gabriel is a genious.
His last album "Scratch my back" is only make of reprises, very minimalist, orchestral but very profond.

I went to a concert in 2003, simply giant, maybe the best concert I've ever seen.

Decided to stop here my ZC experiment.
I'm reading Tyler journal which I find really interessant.

Will have fruits and meat.
Both helped me to gain on health, but seems like they missed each one when I suppressed one.
Will see how it goes...

I take some peppermint in water to help pcos to cure. Don't know if I do well, but I would like so much to ill... If someone as an idea for helping that syndrom it's welcome.
Some said that low carb help a lot, but I'm just bored at following a diet for the instant, just want to eat only natural things and cure (pcos, abdominal pain).

Why not Miles, but I fear rabbit starvation also !!  :o
In fact I've tried two days, but ate more than 3 pounds, my belly got distended and still feel hungry...
It costs also too much money !

Generally I am eating around 2,5 pounds of lean meat with fat (exercing around 2 hours per day or more).

Also I think the deeper problem is that I eat too much... but I don't achieved to regulate my hunger in any diet I follow. It seems like I always overeat now, and this is linked with hormonal disorders I have (pcos). I feel in a kind of vicious cercle you know.
Plus, I never had weight problems till my 18's and was really thin and since I changed my habits of eating it began to be more difficult to have benchmarks I think.
I am not big but not fit as I was and as I feel good. I have too much fat.

When I was eating fruits I was thinner but less muscled and had worse skin, and now I have better skin and good muscles, but more fat.
And the intestines pain won't go weither I eat fruits or meat or  ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh     labyrinth mode
