Off Topic / Re: Ron Paul for President of the USA
« on: August 25, 2012, 02:07:54 am »
I tried to vote for RP in the last election.
At the polls, my sister in WA State was told he dropped out, my friend in MD said he was actually pencil-crossed off the ballots. I mailed in my change of party affiliation in plenty of time (you have to be Republican in the primary to vote for him then), they corrected the change of address and polling station, but conveniently messed up on the affiliation change and I was told I couldn't vote for him in the primary. When I fought for my "right", they sent in a "corrective paper vote", in which the tracking number was lost.........The news hid his stats and the media didn't invite him to major televised debate.
They hang chads, loose ballots... Florida is famous for our "oooops"

They will do what they want, when they want. This is an illusion of Freedom. We're in the Matrix..........

So I enjoy my dream until enough people wake up and really want change......
Then I guess I'll help with the clean up

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Re: fat to protein ratio
« on: August 25, 2012, 12:21:25 am »
Here's an interesting article:

He recommends 1 g of protein for each gram of lean body weight.
I'd like to weigh around 115-125, so for me, that would be around 50-55 g of protein/day.
Eating mostly fat with occasional  fibrous greens/vegs. and minimal, preferably wild, tart fruit such as berries.
I'll be experimenting with the 80/20 fat/protein ratio

"Fat appears not to stimulate insulin. It does not stimulate the MTOR pathway. It does not cause an increase of leptin and in fact it keeps it down. And our health is going to be dependent on what our hormones tell our brains to do, whether to be hungry or not. If you keep leptin down and your hypothalamus can listen to leptin, you are not going to overeat. When leptin is down it stimulates fat burning. It helps diabetes. It helps all sorts of things. I’ve been doing this for over two decades now, and I can tell you for sure it happens.

You have to regulate the hormones that regulate your brain, and you do this by diet, and then you can affect the rate of aging and the incidence of the diseases associated with aging" Quote

Inger,
You are a inspiration for me as well. I look for your posts everywhere. From these many forums to youtube videos.
Please keep on doing what you're doing, helping us. You're always so kind, authentic and never attack anyone. Sweet, simple and good.
I'm making high meat because of what you've shared, and eating other raw meat also. I have two sardines awaiting my first fish smoothie.

Thank you,

Thanks for the invite, but I eat my meals with my boyfriend and he's not a rawie.   I'm on this site for information and to share ideas.

Thanks for the info!   Millers is a coop though, and I'm happy with my providers for now.
I usually buy from US Wellness or Whole Foods.  I'll try Slankers when they get some meat other than beef in.

I would like to find a good fresh seafood source if you know of one. And would love to find a wild Elk source.

how long can I leave it drying in my fridge? Weeks... to months like my roasts?
I also don't want to salt it, but just leave it plain. Did you salt your fish?

I do live in South Florida. I'm just starting to go raw paleo. I age my meat in my small fridge. My high lamb meat is about 3 wks old.
I had some raw HWC in my coffee with some coconut oil (yes, coffee, lol), but I'm finding myself crampy and bloated this morning. I think the HWC is old. It doesn't start to bother me unless it's over about 10 days. I'm considering giving up milk.

I also do cold therapy. A tub about 50 degrees is about as low South Florida is allowing it for me.

Inger is my role model

Can I make high fish out of the jar? Just lay it out on a board in my fridge and air dry-age it like my roasts? And if so, for how long?
Has anyone tried this?

Raw Weston Price / NCR

I have done NCR with Dean Howell when he visited South Florida. Then with Louis Arrandt in Kendall, Florida, who was trained by Dean Howell.

I contribute it to changing my life and my children's lives. I was neurotic and insecure before. My son used to have temporal lobe seizures and after a few treatments, they went away.

I can attest that, although Dean Howell looks poor nutritionally, NCR works.
Nothing is an instant miracle. After the first treatment I cried and emotionally released for a couple hours. And them the subtle changes in my mood and personality over a few months after, changed my life.
