General Discussion / Re: Mold appearing on fresh raw meat
« on: January 02, 2019, 12:28:11 am »
My frozen meat never gets moldy.  Meat dries up in the process of freezing and when I take it out the surface is very dry like jerky. It can stay like this in the refrigerator and never gets moldy.

This is a classical bacterial infection.  If you are not gutting animal yourself I recommend rinsing all organs with water really well.
Long time ago I used to order lamb short ribs from Slankers.  Usually I would rinse it.  For some reason I got lazy and stopped rinsing. And one time I opened package and ate it.  Two hours later I got stomach ache, then fever came, and the next day I got rewarded with diarrhea.   I never had it again as I rinse all my organs. If an organ has ragged cuts I would simply cut out ragged parts.

I really like lungs.  Make sure to inspect bronchi for lung worms.  Use a really sharp knife to cut it into small pieces.  I usually keep them semi-frozen.  That way it is easier to cut.

Omnivorous Raw Paleo Diet / Re: meat inspector advice? etc

It is standard practice unfortunately.  Even if everything looks good inspector will allow only liver and kidney.  I wish I had a setup to slaughter myself so I could get everything. But I do not.

Delivery guy is claiming these are all from grass fed Amish farms.  Does anyone know if this color variation normal?  Both taste just fine.

I am however trying to find some more specific methods as well

One of the trick for regular people is to make green smoothie and add raw liver to it.  That way they do not get most of the taste and none of the texture.

And of course eliminate sugar, grains, alcohol, packaged food, etc.

One of the people I know may have lung cancer, I would be very interested in any advice all of you could give

It depends on what stage it is at.
It depends if this person wants to change his/her life style or not.  Many people will choose to be sick rather than change their old habits.

To cure cancer first thing you need to do is find out the cause. Then eliminate the cause. And last thing fix the immune system so the body can heal itself.

Fixing immune system is a complex process where diet is just one of the components.  If a person has any kind of chronic stress - physical, emotional, chemical, or thermal, no diet will help much.

For example if this person is a smoker he/she needs to quit smoking (most likely primary cause of this cancer), get rid of any chronic stress, cut out consumption of all depressants and stimulants, stop eating all foods that depress immune system (sugar, grain, etc.) and start eating natural diet of nutrient rich food.

And im worried slightly..

If you researched this video you'd know that this is most likely Africa or another tropical place without any signs of functioning sewer systems.  People eat in close proximity where they poop and that's how you can get infestation like in this video.  And most likely this is a child.  If you live where there is clean running water and modern sewers you have nothing to worry about.

And not just tobacco.  Inhaling smoke from any burning vegetation is similarly harmful.

"Semi-frozen"? What does that mean?

What he probably means is it is soft enough to cut it but still hard enough so it does not leak much juice.

enzymes in frozen meats

I don't think there is such thing as enzymes in meat.  I could not find any.  For example our saliva has amylase to break down carbs.  It appears there are no such enzymes in muscle meat.  All enzymes come from outside.  If there is one that's found inside meat I would be very interested to read about it.

I searched all over and found no evidence that freezing impacts nutrients in any negative way.  When thawing in room temperature some juices may leak and that's about it.

Some people swear they can taste and feel the difference but to me fresh or frozen tastes the same.

I'm now full week without shower.  The wife and the office don't appear to suspect anything.  I usually do not go that far but recently I noticed I do not get smelly that much.  One possible explanation is I recently donated blood and suspect there is much less iron in my sweat as before.

If you ever get around Chicago area you are welcome to taste my stash.  I'm curious to see how you will rate it as I don't get much variety.

Is it possible that in your quest for perfection you are chasing ghosts?  Every year I get Amish beef from the same area and every year it tastes different.  Some are better than the other but it does vary.  I went there to look for myself and all I saw cows grazing 24/7.  Is it possible that every animal has a unique taste?  Dogs did not seem to care about taste difference. They ate all the scraps the same way.

Antibiotics is a sure and quickest way.  I would use them in a heartbeat if I was in this situation. Bacterial infections can take a very long time for body to fight.  The benefit of quickly getting rid of infection outweighs all the negatives of antibiotics.

You will not flush anything out of your liver. What you will 'flush' is undigested flush ingredients.

Omnivorous Raw Paleo Diet / Re: How to Fatten on RPD?
« on: February 13, 2018, 08:41:28 am »
You can safely ignore all advices that tell you eat this and eat that especially coming from people who don't a problem putting on weight.

There are many many factors in play and you have to address them as a whole not just eat this and eat that.
Factors like quality of stomach acid, gut flora, hormone imbalances, liver functions, quality of enzymes, stress levels, both physical and emotional, genetics, heavy metal overload, etc.

I did manage to get some fat levels under my skin but it took very long time.  The best thing that works for me is 60/40 meat/fat by volume.  The amount of serving does not appear to matter.  Also, I quickly lose weight under stress.

So everyone is different and you have to figure it out what works for you on your own.
