Hi Craig,

umm I've been gone a few months but it's fall and for me that means animal protein time YEAH! back to the gym!!!

anyway, oilpulling  has helped me get my gum line completely reattatched to my teeth  and has 100% eliminated all tooth pain from at least 3 patients of mine who were getting ready to have teeth pulled.

we love it around here, my hair is thicker and shinier and my teeth seem whiter.
the gums though are direct correlation.  i am positive that the oil pullinng did that for me

good luck

Satya, I think we may operate in a parallel physiology.  The times I feel best and lose weight are with meat/veg/and non-sweet fruit ONLY in the past I have done this and included 2 TBS of flax oil a day and a GLA supplement for healthy fats.  I think I may have to be going back to this total structure.

for meat i eat 4-6 ounces but for cheese i have been eating 4-6 ounces on top of that!

i know i am eating waaaaaay too much fat for ANY body and damn I can see it hanging there.  I have started bikram yoga and that mirror hides nothing.  I have been resisting dieting again because I don't want to get so mental about food anymore....I want to evolve to naturally to doing what is best for my body.  As I have found with drinking/smoking/etc when I change....the behavior changes.

I can see that this has happened to some degree with food but nuts and seeds and fat seem to still get me greedy

congratulations on your dedication to the martial arts!  that is for real.

well, I cut out fruit this week and have noticed that i have been serving up the fats

i feel better without the fruit for sure, have less mental obsession for food and less cravings

basically I have been eating 1-2 times in the morning
raw buffalo or lamb, raw cheese avg 4-6 oz

2-4 times a week I have some raw cacao powder in the blender
i don't find myself hungry later but sometimes have some raw greens or tomato in the evening

my energy is good for certain kinds of exercise:  hot yoga much better with the meat vs. carbs but my cardio is really suffering
I like spin class 2-4 times per week and have noticed that my resistance work is stronger but I can not get into the sprints
(i have noticed this before.....when I went into carbs/ fruit ....I felt much lighter and was much much faster!)

but i polished off a whole canister of raw/sprouted flax this week and this morning I ate about 3-4 ounces of coconut butter as well as 1-2 ounces of cheese

I am about 10-20lbs overweight and no matter what it is hard to budge this weight, It came on at puberty and i have only really burnied through ALL of it one time in my adult life.  the times i lose it are if i am traveling and having lots of adventure and freedom

I would like to eventually get to moderation with both the fat and the carbs.  Like 2-3 Tablespoons of good fat per day and 1-2 servings of low GI fruit

any ideas??

the supplements are helping for sure and i notice that my strong inclination for lemon juice is also subsiding when i take the C

in terms of oral health in general....I have been oil pulling since raw and all of my receding gum line on my lower jaw is pretty much healed....i found out about oil pulling when helping a patient who was scheduled to have her last 2 remaining teeth on one side removed d/t pain and rotting and she has been 8 months and has not needed the surgery

just google oil pulling..........in my experience, sesame or sunflower oil only!!!!  coconut will strip your teeth

also, I remembered a an organ mapping system related to the teeth and checked it out and the tooth that is bothering me is related to the colon........makes sense as that is the target of infection right now

thanks

wow.....strangely appropriate!!

i was downing bell peppers like crazy all winter....at over 3.00 a piece for an organic bell it was a little hard hitting
i would joke with my grocer that they we "my cigarettes"

i finally got a vit c supplement and all of my bell pepper cravings disappeared over night

i wonder if the bleeding is returning on days i don't take it????

i'm on it.....thanks so much!!!

hi,

i love the comments on gratitude that came up
I am a long time meditator and i tell you that after going raw again for the last 2 months and having a strong 2 hour day meditation practice one of the first things to surface was neediness i was storing in my subconscious....(pretty soon that clarified even further into greediness)  yikes!

i feel it is important to add that all negative and positive emotions are UNIVERSAL......don't punish yourself for having them or over identify with them

Metallica,  on the physical level I am also a holistic health physician and candida and gut flora imbalances are a huge part of such a pattern and can be diagnosed with a stool analysis.  but you may also be dealing with something called "insulin resistance"  which means that your body can not uptake the insulin produced by the pancreas after glucose hits your blood stream.....the reason you keep eating is that you are trying to get that insulin to regulate the blood glucose and so you keep giving the input but never actually complete the loop

***if there is diabetes or alcoholism in your family this may be a genetic disposition that you will have to work at correcting***

psychologically, I am also looking at the possibility in these cases of the "reward center" of the brain having some off wiring or being funked out....if we are punishing ourselves for something due to masochistic tendency or dealing with supressed anxiety and we cease to receive pleasure from life research shows that the brain will respond by finding pleasure in deprivation......starvation/monasticism.....

(something else for any type of "purist" to think about)
in this scenario i think of addiction as like the pressure of the dam breaking, we have punished ourselves for so long and then we break and over indulge........then we REALLY have something to punish ourselves for and the cycle begins again!

anyway, there you have it my current ideas ........SPIRIT BODY AND MIND

much luck and blessings to you!  be empowered

i've been there too and I will tell you straight up:

It is not the food

the food behavior is an outcry/expression/expulsion of something else in the subconscious that needs feeding/attention/ or AVOIDANCE

something maybe trying to get your attention and you maybe trying to stay separated from that reality

food slows out consciousness way down like any other addiction and we use it to blot out our experiences that are too painful or we have want to be less responsible for.

I do better with more protein and then i don't crash and experience the emptiness that makes me want to feel "full"

thanks everyone!

well, I just got up from my lunch of ground buffalo (marinated in lemon juice) with some ginger and other spices, some raw cheese and olive oil
i had put some cabbage on the side for wrapping but absolutely did not want it

the bad news is that within the hour....i am already munching the cabbage and fruit that I had packed to eat this afternoon at work.  my body is still in that insulin resistance habit of the carb addict (long time beer drinker...yuck)

but again, I am sooooo grateful for this forum and who ever had the strength to make it happen

I know from experience to never say never but I am a veggie lover and have a hard time imagining JUST MEAT/FAT
i think i have been the happiest on one central meal of just meat and fat and then some small bits of light veg and fruit in the am and pm

in other news!!  I just found out this morning that i am sailing from california to hawaii on a 43 foot catamaran!  my first long sea voyage adn my first trip to hawaii.....such a blessing

this is exciting!  I can't believe I found you all

i am striving to be an all raw omnivore.  began dabbling in raw one year ago and I am a believer for sure.

I have been diagnosed with about 6 different gut bugs including staph and one fungal infection. and was living on meat, greens and flax oil just to stay alert and functioning before trying raw

for the first few weeks of raw vegan I felt amazing but as soon as I added in fruit I lost all motivation to exercise, gained about 10 lbs and got all of my symptoms of gut issues back

I have dabbled with raw meats (and again my body says yes) and mostly have had done well with lamb and ground bison.  I have not eaten beef or pork in 30 years. In fact I was a vegetarian for about 15 years....15 fat and tired years

anyway I wanted to get back to all raw and have been raw vege for the last 2 (fat and tired months!!)

the only animal product I have been having is 3-6 ounces of raw kefir in the morning

finally today I was so sick of being tired and not wanting to exercise or even go to work.....I had a HUGE CHUNK like 5-6 ounces of raw cheese and got such a great rush of energy.....tomorrow it's BUFFALO BABY!

I would love some input on how to structure this diet.  what advice you have to someone getting into it and all that good stuff

thanks, looking forward to this
