The link works for me:

http://www.plosone.org/article/fetchObject.action?uri=info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0088278&representation=PDF

The problem with this studies is that noone takes into account the quality of food. Meat is meat for them and it does not make a difference if it was fried or raw, organic or industrial. I wish there were more studies comparing SAD and raw fooders, instead of vegans vs omnivors.

Vegetarians are less healthy than meat-eaters, a controversial study has concluded, despite drinking less, smoking less and being more physically active than their carnivorous counterparts.

Scientists have successfully reversed the aging process in mice according to a new study just released. Human trials are to begin next, possibly before the year is over.

Google Translator, Polish detected
Title of the video

"Grasshopper tastes a bit like smoked sprats, brain tastes like cream (...), horse meat has a wonderful flavor, it tastes like mayonnaise." Primary Diet, or Paleolithic involves eating raw meat. Is it healthy? Is our digestive system is designed to digest raw meat?

Yeah, as I said - the clip is pretty positive and non-critical. I am Polish so I understand what they say.

However meanwhile I found second part of this reportage and I was right they ridicouled and criticized the diet  in the studio.  Mostky because of fear of parasites.

Now you're on the right track! Even in the trailer, you can tell that they're showing the great side of you.

Also, the clip of Good Morning Poland was great. I'd imagine that you will be on US shows like that one day!

Keep up the good work.

Yes, this clip is good, because there is no background commentary of  "experts" - just opinion of these two people who enjoy eating raw meat.

But I am sure they complained and ridicouled the diet after the clip finished, live in studio.

Nora Gedgaudas has whole interesting topic in PMPM on this and she recommends low quantity (250 g per day) of meat to avoid  protein overload.

I love Primal Body Primal Mind. It is not a Raw Paleo Diet book, but Paleo Diet. I think it is easier for newbees to grasp benefits of regular Paleo diet and then only educate them on harm of heating, by giving them link to studies: http://www.rawpaleodiet.com/articles/dangers-of-cooked-foods-an-extensive-collection-of-on-and-offsite-articles/

Hot Topics / Need advice on raising happy children
« on: March 17, 2014, 02:52:59 am »
6 months ago I became a father of beautiful boy.

We are usually trained in math and science but no one teaches us probably most importand endavour on this planet - how to raise children.

People usually assume they know what is best for children or they just subsconsciously copy how it is done by their parents or enviroment.

I would like to actually open my mind and welcome  advice what I can provide to my boy so he will be happy person in this crazy modern world.

By "provide" i mean both food and non-food.

So far I have read "children: the challenge" and "Parent effectivness training" - two absolutely wonderful and helpful books.

Besides, I would like my boy to join scouts when he is old enough - it is great for learning social skills, self-discipline and connection to nature.

I would also like to provide him very healthy diet that is based mostly on fat of good quality (obviously ;))

Because I am my own boss, I can take as much vacation as I want to, so I would like him to travel with me so he could know this planet better.

What else is important?

General Discussion / Why natural tribes don't eat raw?
« on: March 17, 2014, 02:40:36 am »
I have just read     "Going Tribal" thread on the forum (by Aura) but I did not want to hackjack her wonderful topic so I create separate one to ask you about what I found interesting there.

Namely, many posters  said no natural tribes on the planet eat raw meat now. They all mostly cook their meals.

How come? Why do you think it is like this?

Hi guys, I have not been around for some time here.

I wanted to find out what happened later to one German member of this forum but can't find the topic and I forgot his username :/

This was man that posted regularly here and at some point developed some serious health problems.

I would like to know what was his final diagnosis or if he ever followed up on this story..

Thanks for this, a great read.

The average age of farmers is 58 and there is no new generation of farmers to replace them. In the video linked below, Jim Rogers urges all young people to get into farming and agriculture. He says that it's the farmers who will be driving the Lamborghini's.

Funny guy: http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/rob-rhinehart-no-longer-requires-food

"Rob found himself resenting the inordinate amount time it takes to fry an egg in the morning and decided something had to be done. Simplifying food as "nutrients required by the body to function" , Rob has come up with an odourless, beige cocktail that he calls Soylent."

I remember Nora writes a bit about auto-immune diseases in "Primal Body Primal Mind" but would have to check details.

Hi zbr5,

what is you favourite source of fat?

Löwenherz

Hi LH, my favourite fat is just meat in any form. I especially like raw salmon .

Sorry for jumping in the middle of this interesting conversation but I wanted to add few words re daily protein and meat intake.

When I read Nora's book for the first time (and I agree it is definitely the best book on the subject and the one that I usually recommend to "laymen"), I found her recommendations of protein/meat intake  ridiculous - way too small. But I gave it a try to see how it would make me feel and it happened to be one of the best diet's improvements I made last years. It is definitely much better for me to eat moderate amounts of meat (~200 g ~ 7 ounces a day).

And someone asked here, what she writes on cooked vs raw meat, in her book. Well, she does write a lot about it. She just agrees that the less processed meat is, the better for us. And she praises sushi or traditional meals like raw tartare for their health benefits.

Yeah, I do not have access to grass-fed red meat.

I eat raw fish and I sear my beef for 5 secs.

Fruits and veggies are no problem obviously.

24
Full transition to eating raw meat does not always happen overnight. Even though I know this is the best diet possible, my process of switching to this diet has lasted over one year already and I am still eating only part of my meats raw. It is almost as If I was in the process of developing taste for raw meat.
