Actually, in Ontario one can buy raw milk from the farm for "cat" :). U could have "several rawfoodiest cats", right? Thus you need raw milk for them...

Fruit diet is good, IMHO, for cleansing purpose. But it is temporary decision.
Normally, dry fast is broken with protein liquid like lactoserum from sour milk or fish broth (self made of course).
It looks like GAPS diet might be good for you. http://gapsdiet.com/INTRODUCTION_DIET.html It is not raw but who care? You need health in yr guts not label...
If you clean through yr guts with fruits, make introduction gaps, populate yr guts with good guys, you sould be ok.
Another stuff that might be good for you is Lactulose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactulose This is artificial sugar which is good just for right sort of biofilm! It is positioned like laxative but it is its side effect! You said that you were stuffed with antibiotics. Lactulose is yr help! Because it is used for disbacteriosis!
It costs like 15 bucks for half ltr. Take it for couple of wks. See what happens :). Even with yr fruit diet it should be great :).

Aura, dry fasting is a VERY serious procedure. I did several three days, once 5 days and once 6 days full dry fast. That was the toughest one! Especially with my underweight (no fat at all).
But what you did had no sens at all! If one gets the problems like yours one must help his body to detox it means liquid as much as possible, better from all the ends :). You better water fast to eliminate by-products from yr body and then switch to revive yr micro-flora  in the guts with all possible means.
The right fasting (water or even dry in exceptional case) is a powerful healer or let's say helper for yr body. The wrong one could be disaster! In this case PaleoPhil is right. Even more dangerous to be in the hand of "normal" doctors to brake the fasting!
Be careful next time, good luck and good recovery...

Cash? It could be blown out in one day! The price of life is going up every year directly and indirectly, the nice sum of money today would be much less  in twenty years, if and only if everything goes smoothly...

Gent, I must disappoint you: I know the man who kept the strict RP for more then 10 yrs, the diet a la Lex but every other day!!! (he ate once every other day) He did it after first outbreak of prostate cancer. It was bad surprise when he discovered the big shit again. The doctors saved him this time removing all tumors during two operations. Thus the strict RP diet helps but not 100% bulletproof cure. IMHO, any our experiments must be controlled by standard methods (blood work, x-rays etc)
Health and peace...

I've switched from outside to cold bath. Last time the water outside was 6C. I hold 10 min, but it was tough (every slight move - pain). Yst, after squats I did 10C bath. It is too small even for my small frame. Thus it was 15 min for legs and lower half, 15 min for upper part with some part of the leg our of water. It was easier (the room is warm, palms and toes - out, film of the water around the body, 10C is much easier than 6C). After the bath I got 1 hr shivering... I am far away from cold adapting state.
One of my goals to be where Inger is now.
Good luck.

I know the man (56 yo) who started to train about 10 ya form the state of hardly moving bcs of the multiple problems in the joints and the spine. He's progressed to 180 kg squats, high repetition, several sets and other Olympic weight pushing. Due to persistence in his diet, fasting, exercises he is now beyond all CW limits. Thus he is living prove that the joints are renewable tissue and high load on them is very profitable together with other healthy habits.
I have his pics and even his video for weight lifting somewhere but I do not know how to attach them here.

Suiren, there is dr. Cruse's site with tonns of info and links to the sources of his ideas http://jackkruse.com/brain-gut-6-epi-paleo-rx/ this specific one is about seafood paleo for the brain inflammation (but it is good for anybody).

The problem with ANY style is: that guru proclaims the ONLY way to the paradise of youth and health. But it is all b...s. There are success stories and failures in any of them.
You choose yr own if it works for you great, if you do not have result or yr condition worsens - look for another. If you have means to control the process with some sort of tests even better.
All these famous guys have high interest in commerce, yr interest is yr health.

I have learned from a lot of sites (pro-paleo) that paleo diet is very popular for rebuilding of GI tract and A LOT of people try it for very broad range of autoimmune problems including IBD (actually nearly all AI deceases come from GI).
After frutarian way the transition should be pretty easy (I doubt that U were on this way for 10+ yrs) with some supplements to restart the needed enzymes. (HCl for one).
Re safety of raw meat, it is not the question to this community (99% raw eater), it could be problematic but as any other food of "normal" life.
Good luck.

HIT, might be you can help me to solve the question: from all the sources I learned that HIT session includes whole body training practically nonstop (total around 15 min), then one must have a good long recovery time till next session (5-10 days). I could not find why it was impossible to split like in normal weight training? Let's say you do legs on Monday and chest on Friday.  I use some mix: like normal squats till max weight (for this given day) then I do slow leg press till failure. Or I do rather slow deadlifts. The same with chest: normal free weight push-up, then one set of press in machine to failure. I have listened to Dr. Doug on u-tube, he looks OK, but not more than OK. He makes 4 different exercises for upper body and just leg press for lower body. And for sure leg press is far away from real squats in all senses. What is yr opinion?

Michel, I get more serious problems with my joints. Raw paleo helped but not too much. After reading of Dr.Cruse site and studying his ideas I have shifted my meals accordingly. I used to eat first time near noon or even wait till the evening. But one day I felt on the information about the importance of the morning meal right after waking-up (30 min). It was the information from two absolutely different source from opposite sides of the world. I was convinced and decided to try. After the week of water fast I made the big change in my schedule: loaded protein-fat breakfast 7-8 am, mostly fish + coco oil around noon (if I want to) and last meal 5-6 pm again protein-fat. I am on the end of second week of such try. It looks good. I can feel some tension in the joints after wake-up, but it's gone immediately after the first meal. (the food blocks morning realease of cortisol by theory).
It is not dramatic change for the people. Even with IF it is not big deal: one just eats in the morning and fasts till next morning. But there is no snacks btw the meals and the last one must be 4-5 hrs before the bed (I try to do it btw 5-6 pm).
Try it and observe if there is any difference in yr condition.

Coffee enemas. I know the man who makes it DAILY for the last 6 yrs (sometimes twice a day). He has cured the prostate cancer by raw meat (once in two days, nothing more) and Gerson's enemas. But, he adds salt to the coffee (I do the same when use it during the week water fasting). It prevents toxins to go back to blood stream.
All the best with yr way to fix the problems.

General Discussion / Re: small portions
« on: April 07, 2012, 12:44:51 am »
This is very much depended on yr digestive efficiency. I personally know the man in his 50+ who trains non-stop for last 11 yrs (1,5 hr in the morning and 2 hrs in the evening) eating very small amount of food, fasting regularly (week+ WF every 3 mnths, 36 hrs weekly, plus 3 days a week IF) The food is some fruits, veggy meat, fish eggs (slightly cooked). Theoretically it is impossible to maintain strength and body weight on such regime but the life is full of surprises and he is one of them.
His “miracle” has not happened overnight it is the result of damn-hard efforts and fantastic discipline. He just sticks with routine without any compromise. Thus he has transformed his fat completely ill body of invalid into one of the best and efficient human machine.
I doubt that one could dramatically reduce amount of food and still to be in the same condition but the body of any one could be “trained” to live and function much more efficient.
Good luck.

No question here re 6 WEEKS! It is very serious. But a week fast (only water) is so common that nobody in the community will talk much about it!
I will never say that it is safe for 100% of people but 99% for sure. 1% are specific cases.
It is not only my opinion it is just statistics.

Try to talk to doctors  ;D, they will not believe that  the result of blood work becomes better after a week of WF :D... Let alone to help with the fasting itself...

In any case I 've just put my drop of personal experience.

All the best

Hello everybody,

Personal longest fasting is 23 days (first 6 days - dry!). One 14 days, every year 3-4-5 times, a week long water fasts (it is the most suitable length for me: 5 to 9 days).

I am active member of Russian fasting forum (there are might be more then thousand members). Thus I have my personal view:

It is absolutely natural and safe to do the water fast. But if somebody decides to do it one must fish around and learn how to do it wise.

To call the WF "the reason for death" is the same as the sun or water or air is "the reason for death". Or anything you can imagine :)

IMHO, it is simply strange that somebody can jump to such type of conclusions when there are so much open information on the net. Read, learn, analyze, make your own conclusion, try, observe and be responsible for yr action instead of blaming RPD, WF or the moon light for the troubles :).

Peace.

Like several said it takes 6 mnths to get result.
In yr case I would suggest to check PaNu blog. I read a lot and from several sources I learned that people got very good result from cooked paleo... Just yesterday I read blog of one guy with Crohns disease who is now OK (with colonoscopy   confirmation) doing cooked paleo strictly for one year. Recently he re-introduced milk in big amount (after 8 mnths he starts to get some trouble from it and reduces) and even add potato without any trouble for his very serious illness. Plus you can see a lot of people in their late 80-90th who never knew about raw... and what? Thus be reasonable try and choose for yourself the best way in nutrition.  It is yr health and yr body and it is you who is responsible for everything, not any guru or doctor with their arguments (which differ from one pole to another)! Good luck and take care...

I got problem with my leg when I did skateboard (27 y.o.) My pain was permanent and I could not use my leg for a YEAR. Every step was a torture. I went to a bunch of therapists, no result at all. Once during the class I got fiver from permanent pain. In sitting position I laid down on the table and felt asleep. In THIRTY minutes I awoke without ANY pain and run after class the first time in that dreadful year. My conclusion is: I locked something in the spine during specific movements on the board. This lock permanently kept leg nerve. When I got fiver (high temperature and blood circulation), my unconsciousness during the sleep (relaxation) and right stretching position (totally occasional!) I released the lock and NEVER gotten it after (I am 48 now). Thus I strongly believe in mechanical nature of your problem and right movement (yourself or chiropractic) should safe you from yr suffering.   Good luck.

Susan is right: appendix is very important. According to one theory appendix is storage for microorganisms of yr intestines. It means it is restarting bank in case you get diarrhea or some poisoning.
And again Susan is right fasting is good remedy for appendix inflammation.

For fish just the same: couple of days ago I ate month old salmon pieces. Very testy as cold dried...
