I agree with you svrn!great post.
La vie aux bout des doigts [Patrick Edlinger]
The white tongue from raw milk is probably not detox. You probably are just having trouble digesting it. You should probably ferment it first, and see if that helps. I ferment my raw milk, and only eat the fermented/soured cream. I throw the rest away.
@K-WI,
I get diarrhoea if I eat foods me body doesn't like, especially high carb foods like cereals. Diarrhoea is a sign of detox only as far as you are getting rid of the 'crap' you have eaten recently, not a more helpful type of detox eliminating stored waste. When I eat low carb raw paleo then my body tends to hold onto the food for longer, because the breaking down raw fatty foods continue to be useful and appreciated as they continue digestion.
If you get diarrhoea from something it would be wise to stop eating it.
K-WI, your symptoms have many similarities to mine and we both seem to suffer from carbs. If you follow a low carb raw paleo diet then I would expect you to see a lot of improvements. In my case it seems that I need to be very strict to get the result of feeling great, and with similar food addictions to you it has been quite long road, since every carb cheat takes a few weeks to get over and get back in the groove.
Last year I too thought that I wouldn't be able to eat raw liver, so I blended this and other offal with greens to make smoothies to hide the taste. Now I think liver tastes fine and even kidney is OK.
At the moment I am eating 2 meals a day, with a daily total of 200g pure fat / coconut oil, 400g offal (heart/liver/kidney), 200g meat / fish, plus salt, and 2 eggs. The only thing I really don't like the taste of is the coconut oil - it tastes a bit yucky to me. I weigh and chop this up into bite size bits for breakfast and then again for an early dinner. If I do cheat then it is only on small amounts of low carb foods.
I really want to feel great and the low carb RP diet has had me feeling great before so I am confident that any sacrifices from having to eat this way are well worth it!
The amounts in food are nowhere near sufficient for what's needed to manage schizophrenic symptoms. I take 15,000% the DV of niacin, or 1,500 mg daily.
I recommend looking into Dr. Hoffer's book "Healing Schizophrenia: Complementary Vitamin & Drug Treatments."
Look into big doses of b complex, vitamin c, and possibly others also.
Drink clean water - distilled or spring.
A raw diet is really helpful. See if you can find a cheap source of grass fed animal fats. Suet, beef fat, etc. It's cheap and great for adding calories and raw fats.
Yeah!! Daily average intake of 8/9 raw egg yolks, niacin 3000mg, mg, folic acid, zinc... helping in a great deal severely schizophrenic patient , my brother. This is the 1st time for the past 6 months, he is out of any hospitals. Usually, he goes to hospitals every month and stays home 1 or 2 days before he goes completely crazy. Still he is quite abnormal, cause he does not want to eat healthy and all psychiatric symptoms are there, but he is NOT violent, NOT suicidal. He is addicted on sugar, gluten...u name it!!! But he is unaware that mom is hiding all vitamins and egg yolks in his drinks, juices. That keeps his totally stable. After numerous hospitalizations, now his ONLY place could be institution, but mom is keeping him almost norm by this.
my understanding is that a yeast infection would be either a symptom of a more systemic issue, or just a localized problem, for many women its a bit of both I guess.
when most people on health type forums speak of candida, they are largely speaking of a number of symptoms like above due to an overgrowth of naturally occurring fungus. Itching in ears, feet etc..(athletes foot is usually another symptom of something systemic, but possibly not) and other areas is common too, often immediately after consuming certain types of sugars.
One original natural function of candida is to break down foreign sugars and debris, but since there is some skewed environment (antibiotics, or metals etc..) they always have shit to do and don't die off...or mutate or permeate areas they were not intended to. When seriously limiting carbs, this allows for less fermentation and other natural processes which are -again- all screwed up, so the excess fungus retreats somewhat resulting in less symptoms. It unfortunately doesn't mean the situation resolves itself, and probably many 'candida-diet' practitioners can attest to that.
the only theories I have ever heard of regarding carbs not being a problem, are those that state with very little fat in the blood stream, sugars pass through and will feed the cells without feeding fungus. Problem with that is that even in the best case scenario, a low fat diet is neither suitable for health or natural. but in the worst case, likely people only suppress the symptoms further (while claiming the opposite!). High sugar will create such a situation in modern people whenever there is underlying digestion/fermentation issues. Also worth noting, people will get back the same symptoms with added fats on low-fat/protein just as people on LC/ZC will have them with carbs.
to say carbs or fats don't affect at all these intricate internal processes is just extremely unlikely. Traditional peoples didn't have many of the known factors which create such imbalances in ability to handle 'natural' foods. Alcohol is a nasty combination with such issues for many people, and probably could have been consumed much more healthfully before the modern period too, but that doesn't mean it doesn't effect internal problems.
I would be interested to see what Hannibal has to say about how to integrate carbs into a animal foods diet high in fats for people with genuine issues, but my two sense is that the diet needs to be simultaneously making the person healthier while cleaning up some of the long term issues due to candida, and not just be focused on one or the other.
6. Address the cause of your illness. I believe my imbalance was caused by my 8 amalgam filings. The mercury in the amalgam filings leached into my body, "priming" my immune system to any little allergen. So when I eat an allergen my immune system goes nuts. The mercury kills the digestive enzymes and beneficial flora in the body and replaces mineral locations in cells where a calcium, iron, selenium, ect... molecule would reside (this causes major havoc in the body).
How Sulfur Deficiency is Created
Sulfur has been known since ancient times for its healing abilities.
Sulfur is very involved with the production of collagen and collagen cannot be made without sulfur.
Sulfur is also very important in protecting your body from harmful toxins and heavy metals found in our environment.
There is no RDA for Sulfur, but your body uses up about 750 mg. of sulfur per day.
Most people are probably deficient in this mineral despite the adequate consumption of sulfur foods.
The depletion of our soils and bad animal husbandry practices mean that our fruits, vegetables, and factory farmed animal products usually have very little organic sulfur to give our bodies.
This sulfur is then further destroyed during cooking or pasteurization processes.
Properly grown and eaten sulfur rich foods will help to give your body this necessary mineral that literally helps to keep your form.
I'm not sure why you said "imagine," but if that means you do have amalgams, remove your amalgams and do chelation for a while! Dental health deteriorates on SAD, so amalgams (which get loose margins that harbor bacteria) plus periodontal disease can be a constant source of toxic overload. Candida and parasites are not the only source of detoxing, so you can replace them with an appropriate substitute - iodine, selenium, chlorella, cilantro all come to mind. Oil pulling is nice, too.
You get rid of an overload just but avoiding anymore load and wait until the overload is resorbed!
To get milk, you need to go into domestication of animals. This is typically Neolithic and even a few decades ago there were several large population groups on the planet who never drank any animal milk.
One thought that makes sense to me is that it takes an effective army to mount a defensive action. In the case of the body, symptoms such as fever and cold symptoms are the body's defenses. When the body is weak, it cannot raise a defensive symptom to fight infection.
Also, if you are talking about candida albicans, it is not like an infection. Some candida is normal, so the body should not raise fever in response to candida.
Looking at the pictures of this poster's coated tongue and poop full of mucus and his description of body fungus and digestive woes, I think it makes sense for him to severely limit (or eliminate) carbs. Our paleo ancestors did not have his eating and health history, nor were they given antibiotics as children. If his internal body climate is so unbalanced, he cannot just ignore the dysfunction and pretend that omnivorous RPD will heal it.
When someone has candida albicans overgrowth, the candida itself overrides appetite signals and mental clarity, and all of a sudden that person will think he really, truly has an appetite for fruits and other carbohydrates. The cravings become intense. He is saying so himself: he is binge eating SAD. Next thing you know, somebody will come along and tell him he needs psychotherapy for eating disorder.
The way I see it, there are two forces at play here. On the one hand, if we were all raised as paleolithic children, we would probably not exhibit immune disorders and other special needs. On the other hand, if we continue with a modern-day agricultural diet, our diseases will progress and multiply.
So there are two routes: continue with cooking and processing our food and search for a magic bullet to make us immune to the ravages of cooked and processed foods, or...
Dive whole heartedly into RPD, which removes the giant thorn, and then address the remnants of disease.
In my case, I came to RPD with such bad arthritis in my hip that I couldn't walk. I was still working, and the walk from the parking lot to my office was so painful that I considered lying down in the middle of the street so that someone would call an ambulance. The things I tried before RPD were the "usual" treatments: food supplements, raw vegetarian, vegan, and fruitarian, enemas, etc. After a few days on RPD, I was walking without pain, although a limp remained. Eighteen months after starting RPD, I consulted a naturopathic doctor, got some blood tests and xrays, and take a few supplements that were indicated. The doctors are all delighted that I stick to RPD - even though they do not prescribe this way of eating into their recommendations, they have had enough evidence from their patients to know that raw meat eaters make the most successful recoveries.
I have read that, when autoimmune issues are present, removing the toxins are imperative. Even if you don't recover the tissues and organs that were damaged, at least you won't decline further. Also, remember that it is impossible to see long-term improvement immediately. Go on faith a little, and be patient with the process of healing.
For the record, I eat a high fat, moderate protein, and low carbohydrate RPD diet. I do not cook my food.
Hope this does not confuse you further. There are no absolute rules here, and there are many variations to eating raw meals that include animal products.
is there a chance you can have your vitamin and mineral levels tested? have you actually had your food allergies tested?
As a general principle: oranges yes, orange juice no. Coconut yes, coconut oil no.
Fresh raw meat is often unattractive. After drying-aging it for some weeks hung on a hook in a (dry) fridge, it takes a quite different taste and may be very tasty. But to like it, we have first to get rid of any proteins overload due to a previous excessive consumption of cooked meat-eggs-fish and dairy.
More white spots are popping up on my teeth
