Which book(s) should I buy?
« on: July 04, 2008, 12:09:18 am »
Hi, I'm about to purchase one of Aajonus' books online but I don't want to buy both of them if I don't have to. Which is more comprehensive - WWTL second edition or TRFLWD?

Well, I hated the first book from the start as it was designed to be extremely vague and New-Agey with precious little info re starting the diet. It seemed merely a promo-piece to get people signed onto his consultations. His 2nd book RFLWD was much more of use IMO, with much more detail. Mind you, the first book has come out in a new edition , so things may have changed.

Still no replies concerning the second edition so I'll take Tyler's advice to begin with. Thanks.

If you can only have one then get the recipe book. The stories in the first book aren't that well written but they are passionate and convincing. There is much more information in the recipe book, not to mention it basically outlines how to do the diet where as the first book only gives remedies to a lot of ailments rather than how to do the whole lifestyle.

Aajonus' recipe for living without disease book is OK, but most of the recipes contain some dairy in them. So best to cut out the dairy and replace it with a rawpalaeo-friendly alternative, or look up  relatively "healthy" recipe books such as Sally Fallon's Nourishing traditions book and just make rawpalaeo-friendly versions of them, leaving out the raw dairy, fermented grains etc, replacing the vinegar with raw apple-cider vinegar etc.
