In Iceland,  apparently, raw puffin heart is a national dish.

Andrew Zimmern has an episode on Iceland. The show is quite good. Regarding puffin, they show how the animals are caught in what looks like butterfly nets on long poles with an incredibly quick snap of the wrist. (They are eaten three ways on this segment - grilled, long-cooked, and smoked so that they looked pretty raw.)
