GETTING YOUR DESERTS!
« on: May 02, 2015, 12:15:56 am »
ANY OF YOU TRIED YOUR OWN DESERTS?   I have mixed minced raw fish, raw minced beef or lamb into ice cream and produced a fishy or meaty desert!   Just add as much of the mince as you choose to plain vanilla ice cream to make it firm and taste of the desired flavor and there you have it Fishcream, Beefcream etc.   Keep it frozen for future use.   You should be able to use rotten meat or rotten fish mince to give a really cheesy flavor!    Try it some time?

My sister in law makes raw ice cream from raw duck egg yolks, raw coconut cream, real vanilla beans and whatever fruit in season.

Sounds fantastic, and I bet it tastes good too!   A bit of a connoisseur of ice cream, so I would love to try that!

We have an electric ice cream maker at the house. A good raw ice cream can be made with a base of raw eggs and coconut oil or coconut butter, but sweetening can be a problem. I like sweet leaf (stevia), but it is bitter if you need to use a bunch.

I prefer to put bananas, berries, and ice cubes in a VitaMix for my grandchildren to make a spoon-able smoothie. A gear-driven juicer is good, too, because is makes "ice cream" out of any pre-frozen fruit.

I make "candy bars" out of coconut oil and raw cacao powder with a pinch of sweet leaf (stevia).

I am not going to buy a juicer. I did once, and the business of cleaning out the remains afterwards was a major hassle which discouraged me. I had to take the whole juicer apart to be certain nothing was left therein. Perhaps an ice-cream maker might be good. Hmm, there are even dirt-cheap ones worth around 20 pounds sterling, though maybe something more expensive may be necessary.

Another problem I have is that the only 2 times I tried eating raw coconut oil, I got the most intensely painful  stomach-aches I have ever had in my entire life. Perhaps some substitute may be in order.

AV said truly raw coconut oil doesn't exist. Only coconut cream.

It's not exactly icecream, because it's not frozen, but I'm having a thick shake that tastes just like icecream. It's better after leaving it 1 day in the fridge, for some reason. I think it might be because the air bubbles from the blending popped off. I kept it in a jar with plenty of air space. It's good when just made, also.

It has 450ml (1.8 cups) raw cream, 7 raw eggs, 20g (0.7oz) fresh ground flaxseed (I grind them myself prior to use in a coffee grinder), 10 small walnuts, 5 pecans and 3tbsp honey. I think I like it even better with more pecans and no walnuts, though. But this time it tastes more like icecream. Maybe I'm just used to walnuts on icecream.

I know it's not vanilla paleo, but it's primal, if you're into that. And I'm sure coconut cream would work as well, like GS said.
