Uk organic standards are suspect says article

Nonorganic chicken etc. are so unhealthy and so inbred etc. that it is a disgrace to market them as organic. Those of us with cars obviously should always check the farms they order from as regards what the animals are fed on etc., if at all possible. As I have no car, I generally far prefer buying raw wild game from hunters/game-wholesalers as I can be reasonably certain of the high quality thereof.

UK organic food standards have been so lax with big agribusiness bribing the UK governments to water down the organic laws that "organic" never meant much. I believe the Soil Association among others wanted to introduce 5 levels of organic with the top category being for wild foods. Don't think it succeeded, sadly.

The standards in the US are low as well. It's bullshit.
