I buy chicken gizzards at a local farmer's market here. They taste like a tougher, fattier version of chicken. They're incredibly tasty. I've never had heart, though. I've looked and looked, but I can't find any.  :(

yesterday I got whole grass feed hen. I ate liver, heart and gizzard, it was delicious, but it was some little stones like a sand in a gizzard. i didnt know where was it from because it was really well rinsed. >:

Heart and gizzard are the best tasting parts of chicken in my opinion. The only thing that I don't like is the smell, after a few days.

I think chickens ingest sand and pebbles (hence they'll go for hard grain) to help them grind and digest other foods in their gizzard.
