Ideas needed for what kind of material to use in drying ground beef for pemmican.

I thought of window screen, but don't know if it is safe for use with food.

Help?

How about those grease splatter screens that go over frying pans?  Obviously they are designed for use with food.

If you plan to dry meat often, you may consider building Lex's Dehydrator Model or buying a food dehydrator such as Excalibur Food Dehydrator (http://www.excaliburdehydrator.com/). It's about $200. I bought one two years ago. It's a good product.

Both good ideas, will take time to think about a choice.

Thanks.
