vegetarian vs carnivore - growth size
« on: March 12, 2011, 12:35:10 pm »
I noticed something interesting... there are lots of gnats?(I think they are but all my image searches for 'gnat' show up w/mosquito looking fuckers) where I live and any food that's left out they get into(they even get into my fridge and then die in there...). Well when I was fermenting my sweet potatoes they got in and laid their offspring(little white worms). Well they did it again in some fairly high meat I was trying to dry out on my counter and I noticed that the worms that grew on the meat were twice as big as those that grew in the sweet potato stuff.

It's interesting because of the whole vegetarian vs meat eater, growth size thing that people talk about with humans. Seems to be the same with these insects... interesting though that the largest land animals - elephants and giraffes are vegetarian. I guess it has to do with their digestive systems... meh, pointless topic? x_x

Lol IMO it doesn't matter wtf an animal eats its what its designed to eat that matters.
