I am considering going zero carb.  I want to know some experiences first.  I heard women need carbs even though men don't.  Women need carbs?  Is it for the rs?  I would imagine that would be why, as it's basically the only thing a woman has different than a man.  I would like to maybe continue having children in the future, or at least not damage my rs as it is well and want to keep it that way.  The closest I have come is raw butter and raw egg yolks, but only for a few weeks.  It did help my general health.

All I've heard re carbs is that neolithic women were supposed to be more fertile than Palaeo tribeswomen because they had more fat-layers as a result of eating carbs.

Thank you.  I know a higher body fat level can help bring on menarche.

I wish I could see some studies on this on present day women.  I wish more people would be doing zc now, so I could get an idea easier.  How might zc harm a female reproductive system, if it would even harm or hinder it?  Does part of it depend on age of the mother?  I bet there's a lot that can be studied, that could eventually provide us with knowledge of how to help each situation.

Were women who were out there hunting regularly less fertile than the ones who stayed home?  That might be good, as giving birth in the middle of a big game hunt might not be conducive to getting the hunt done right.

I'm thinking zc may ovulate and not menstruate.  What about Susun Weed, hmm... she says menstruating is good as it does detox the body of mercury and other excess, but then an active zc life might sweat out toxins?  Plus, paleo hunting, the world probably didn't make the women toxic.

You will probably have better luck getting info on this at the ZeroCarb forum (zeroinginonhealth.com). I have plenty of data and anecdotes on more ancestral-type diets producing superior pregnancy and childbirth results, but none on ZC or 100% raw diets (although ancestral-type diets tend to have less carbs and less high-heat cooking than the SAD).

We did survive the Ice Age, with probably very little fresh plant material, yet plenty of water (ice we could melt by fire).   The Ice Age lasting numerous of our generations, this must be possible some how.  I guess it's hopeful that women who go zero carb do have children during and after.  I wonder what they ate back then.  Frozen mammoths and their stomach contents?
