Water Cure
« on: August 22, 2013, 03:17:29 am »
Howdy folks. I'm looking into optimizing my water consumption.

I recently started adding some salt (Real Salt) and ocean minerals (Blue Ocean Minerals) to my distiller water. I'm looking into the website "WaterCure.com" and wondering if anyone has some insight.

Here's some of their recommendations.

"It is very important you balance your sodium intake with your water consumption. Take 1/4 teaspoon of salt per quart of water"

There are 4 quarts per gallon. So for every gallon I make I'm putting a 1/2 tsp just to start, I might add more salt later.

Anyone follow any of their advice?
Disclaimer: I was told I was misdiagnosed over 10 years ago, and I haven't taken any medication in over a decade.

Seems like a lot of salt for a gallon of water if you go to 1/4 teaspoon with each qt.    People flip back and forth with their salt recommendations.   You might like to do as I do:  I get dulse and alaria from Larch in Maine.  His number is 207-546- 2875.   the dulse melts in your mouth, the alaria I grind up myself and eat daily.   Plenty of salt still on those, since they are not rinsed prior to drying.   Also I think you're using Celtic sea salt, which is full mineraled.    I'm experimenting by cutting back on my use of Blue Ocean Minerals ( I also have and use a water distiller ) and using more seaweed for minerals.  Dulse with avocado is gloriously good tasting,, as it is with any good fat.

Yes sure, for a short time to help balance sick people I've recommended that watercure2.org website.

In the long run I seem to prefer these days real spring water with high magnesium content.

i  agree with van, the dulse is wonderful (but i understand your hesitation with using it).  adding the salt and minerals to water seems like good practice, as it's been often mentioned (especially for folks who live in our climate) that drinking plain water for rehydration can be tricky...  people sweat out fluids and minerals, and putting primarily water back into our system can actually dilute our bodies, more than rehydrate.  adding as much salt and minerals to you water as your body requires seems like a good idea...  but i think an actual "correct amount" would be hard to determine, it's based on "you".
