Thanks for this informative read, GS. It's a lot of things I already suspected or knew about, but the fact that it is published in such a popular and generally believable support like NatGeo makes it easier to show to undecided or skeptical people from my entourage.

My cousin wants to do genetic engineering. Her main project is to work on algaes that could be used as bio-fuel for the cars of the future. I  wonder if the GMO-fuel's exhaust particles floating in the air could have an effect on people's health...Maybe not if it's combusted into nothing but ashes and carbon-dioxide, or if there are special particle filters built on these cars.

Who knows, maybe cars will roll (or float :) ) on something else, like hydrogen.
