Idk dude...Im just suspicious of anyone who claims to know what exactly people ate 2000 years ago when nobody was looking. Much of history is bunk.... take the Aztec for instance, they butchered people for their meat and the elite took the choice parts for themselves and sold the rest to the merchant class..but the history books mention that in any detail.

The generalities that slaves and lower class people didnt eat much meat is absurd...the ancient empires were hardly police states and most people who lived in the provinces had plenty of opertunity to procure meat.
