A more ancient way to sleep
« on: February 08, 2017, 10:38:02 am »
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4202016/Why-waking-night-natural.html

I often get pilloried for my sleeping habits(eg:- sleeping 4 hours and then waking up for  the remainder of the night and then spending perhaps 30-60 minutes asleep during lunch-hour). The above sounds interesting, though, as an idea. Note how working hours are cited to have been  much shorter before the Industrial Revolution......

Nice article.

I've already mentioned it on this forum a while ago:

"Biphasic sleep"

Still cool to be reminded of such phenomenon.

Sorry, forgot it had been mentioned before. The only thing I would like to add is that biphasic sleep seems to have been more of a phenomenon of pre-industrial times, not necessarily palaeolithic times.

Here are a couple more articles on other suggested palaeo sleep-routines:-
