The above seems reasonable at first glance, but most government interference is very bad in the long run. Those Primal Dieters who did that wifeswap tv episode had all sorts of morons phoning up the police to report the parents and try to get them imprisoned and cut off from their own children - the parents were lucky as the police were reasonable and stated that the parents were innocent and the children were all healthy. It could happen to anybody.

As TD stated, any government intervention is bad.
Let vegans do what they want and let raw foodist like ours the same. Let keep this on the long run and see who ends up winning this battle. For that to happen we need freedom even to destroy ourselves.
