Don't take it too seriously as there have been studies showing health-problems for  aged male dogs which have been castrated in their youth.

I saw this. It is interesting none the less, considering women live longer on average than men, and have less testosterone.

A more obvious explanation is that men with higher testosterone-levels take more risks so will inevitably die at a much younger age, and will be more likely to die from accidents, falls etc.

My dad was castrated as a treatment for prostrate cancer in his 60's - it seemed to change his personality for the better and he became less competitive and more humorous.

Yes indeed.  Males are fools when it comes to taking risks and going to dangerous extremes, quite often.

On the other hand, taking risks means there is also a greater chance of achieving more.

A lot of it is genetics.  Kathy Griffin, a famous comedienne here in the US, has a mother who is 92, but looks 70.  Her mother eats plenty of junk food.

I imagine I might look 60 when I'm 90, if I live that long, and if I eat perfectly, and if I have no outside medical help.

Imagine if someone like Kathy Griffin's mother was raised on raw paleo from birth...they'd look 40 at age 100.  ROFL
