Diabetes
« on: March 20, 2010, 09:27:57 am »
A friend has been diagnosed with diabetes. Any suggestion? He is a bit timid about starting a raw diet. I am emailling him the pages on honey and diabetes from AV's books.
Cheers

Basically to just cut way back on carbs. He doesn't need to go VLC/carnivore but his body will do best this way now.
It seems a lot easier for people to control their blood sugar spikes/dips when they get away from refined foods so I'd make that step first. Raw will occur in it's own time.

If hes going to start a raw diet introduce it to him slowly. It seems that when people are exposed to new diets to drastically than they eventually fail.

buy that book Death to Diabetes.

Watch the funny video of the author.

This is slightly cooked paleo diet by another name.

I recommend that book because it bridges the SAD way of thinking over to our way of thinking.  It's a beginner's book to paradigm shifting.

Good advice.

Death to Diabetes is a slow intro to raw.

Vegetables are slightly steamed.
Wild Salmon is slightly steamed.
Fat is extra virgin olive oil.

It's like eating in a classy restaurant.

My list of don't eats would consist of
1. refined sugar of any variety including HFCS High Fructose corn syrup, white sugar, brown sugar
2. wheat in any form unless possibly sprouted
3. coffee and tea
4. any food that comes in a box with an ingredient list longer than 2 items
