I have quite a few questions to be answered and I apologize for the volume. I don’t have much free time to get to my computer unfortunately. I don’t know whether everything from Aajonus’s book is correct for me so I need some other opinions. If it is too many questions feel free to scowl and dismiss me freely.
1.What temperature should the meat stay above and below?
2.What are the safest and most nutritious fish?
3.What other seafood are valuable to consume?
4.Is plain beef fat healthy?
5.Is pork a healthy meat?
6.What parts of the animals hold especial nutritional value?
7.Is honey nutritious, bad, or neutral?
8.What meat digests the easiest?(I don’t know that I have the resources to make high meat at this time)
9.What vegetables and vegetables digest the easiest and are nutritious?
10.What is the best way for bodily hydration?
Thank you!
1) Temperature should never exceed 40 degrees celsius/104 degrees fahrenheit. Raw meat should not be frozen(0 degrees celsius), on an ideal level, but , realistically, many RPDers are forced to buy prefrozen meats, so it is sometimes necessary to keep them frozen.
2) All raw wildcaught fish are safe; avoid all farmed fish like the plague. All raw fish are nutritious, but there is a preference among RVAFers for very fatty deep-sea fish for various reasons.
3) There's raw wildcaught shellfish of all kinds such as raw scallops, raw mussels, raw oysters, raw lobster, raw crabs etc. etc. Oh, and raw seaweed.
4) If the beef fat is raw and 100% grassfed it's healthy. Otherwise not.
5) Pork is usually unhealthy as almost all pork is fed on grain-filled diets(often 100% grains). Only buy raw pastured pork.
6) All parts have value of some sort, though cartilaginous organs like raw lungs and the hard parts like the bones are pretty pointless to eat. Raw heart, liver, tongue, kidneys, suet and marrow are the ones commonly eaten by RPDers(when they can get them). If you can get raw eyeballs or raw brains and other hard-to-get raw organs that's even better.
7) Raw honey shouldn't be eaten by those intolerant to raw carbs but everyone else can eat it in moderate amounts. IMO, raw honeycomb is superior and always raw(if not found within a jar).Liquid honey, however, is able to be labelled raw on a legal basis, even if it is not genuinely raw at all. My view, based on multiple accounts, is that raw honey should only be consumed occasionally, like in Palaeo times. Eating raw honey to primal diet levels is definitely unhealthy.
Other than "high-meats" and slightly-aged raw meats, it is the raw softer organs such as raw kidneys and raw liver which digest the fastest.
9) No idea. I would avoid raw vegetables with high antinutrient levels such as raw broccoli or raw kale. The general rule is that if the raw veg isn't tasty when raw, you should generally avoid it. My personal favourites are:- raw samphire/carrots/radishes/seaweed. I rarely eat raw veg, just a few times a year.
10) Best method is to drink high alkaline mineral water from a natural spring. I heavily disagree with AV's notion of eating raw fruit/raw veggie-juice for water as that didn't work for me.
