Questions that needs to be cleared up
« on: June 14, 2010, 06:04:03 am »
If I were to consume raw eggs (super market kind), raw beef organs (most likely only hearts, kidneys and livers), fats, meat and Sashimi, would I be alright?

What would I be lacking? Would my acne disappear? Would I still be 'entitled' to the awesome health benefits? I have not been eating paleo nowadays but I have gotten used to the taste of it, except for organs.

I plan to use avocado as a dipping sauce. Not every time, probably only for fish.

My Muay Thai membership is over, so exercising would probably be push ups, sit ups, the norms because i would be working to buy my own food, so mum can shut it about rice.

Is it normal to get 'high' on raw beef fats, meat and sashimi? Because I do. I feel happy, focused, faster and stronger.. and high.

Is it alright if I were to eat like 1 heart, 1 kidney, 1 liver a week? And the rest would be fats, fish and meat. Oh, briskets are muscle meats right? Because it is freaking hard to chew. Not a lot of fat too. When i said more fats to the butcher at the supermarket, I just get a larger slice so i guess it is pretty hard to balance.

Don't really know how to calculate what my body needs daily so I just plan to eat as much as I need. Meaning I will bring my food to work and will not eat any cooked food, I would rather starve!  O0

Would be nice to get everything cleared up so I wouldn't be so confused. Smoking has lowered my I.Q i think and let's not forget I drink like a frat boy but now I drink only once a week.

One of our members, Lex Rooker, reports doing fine on little more than raw grassfed beef, suet and organs, but not all do. Common concerns include getting sufficient intake of iodine, magnesium and salt. Organs, fish, shellfish, seaweeds, sea salt and young greens may address this issue and I eat them myself, though I can't say I notice much difference when I do, so it's largely theoretical for me at this point. Inadequate levels of these nutrients may be one of the reasons that some folks fare poorly on carnivore/ZC/VLC.

Another concern is hydration, as there are reports that inadequate fluid intake on a carnivorous/ketogenic diet can increase the risk of kidney stones. When I did Multistix urinalysis tests I found out I was mildly dehydrated (and I believe I have been for many years, because I always had dry skin and it's actually less dry now than before).

Mine did, though I still at times eat fruits and other cheats, so I still get minor breakouts at times (zinc helps  resolve them more rapidly when they occur), and I recently started taking a low-dosage of a Dr. Ron's multi that contains a small amount of zinc that may be helping too.

For me it is, though it doesn't happen every time and the effect is milder now than what it was early on.

It wouldn't bother me (other than not liking the taste of kidney enough to eat that much), but it depends on the individual.

Maybe the nutrient data at this site will help: www.nutritiondata.com

I also use a nutrient calculator at fitday.com, which requires free registration. It doesn't work the way I'd like, but it did help a little when I was trying to figure out what nutrients might be inadequate in my diet.

Just remember that only some people handle raw zero carb without issues.Other than that, your intended diet sounds far more varied than many zero-carbers.

I would suggest also going in for very fatty organ-meats such as raw tongue, raw marrow and raw suet so as to offset any lean-meat-intake from seafood etc.. Not an issue on a raw, omnivorous diet, but I'd imagine that with raw zero carb one should make a bit more effort re raw animal fats.
