Pesticides on Fruit/Vegetables

The advice on fruit is always 'wash before use'.

Is the fruit rinsed at some point before it gets to us anyway?

As well as pesticides, they also give a reason for washing being that they can sit around in warehouses and would gather dirt, bacteria etc... If they've already been washed before this to remove pesticides, I wouldn't be too bothered about not washing...

From my experience, some commercially grown fruits are washed, others are not. I also remove the peel from any non organic fruit.
