Weight stalled on Paleo, living in Singapore
« on: June 06, 2011, 09:51:19 am »
Hi am new to the Paleo/PaNu diet. Have been on it for about 7 weeks with some moderate results - lost about 3 kg according to a cheap scale. I feel visibly lighter and my clothes are loser... yay!

A few questions to start off with:

1) Where can I buy reasonably priced grass fed butter in Singapore?  The only one i have come across is Organic Valley which costs $19 per block!

2) my weight seems to have stalled and I am not losing any fat percentage according to the Omron weighing scale.  This has been the case for almost two weeks now.  I know for a fact I probably haven't reached my optimum weight, as I used to weigh about 53 - 55 kg (158 cm, 5 ft 3") while I am at 59.5 kg now.  Should I try cutting out more vegetables and proteins, or is this normal for ladies - any Asian ladies in particular on this forum?

3) Is it harder for ladies to lose weight compared to men on the paleo diet?

Thanks any advice is welcome.

Can you give us an idea of your diet?

Are you eating raw?
Cheers

Hi there,

My friends and I follow the Paleo/Primal diet.  As a matter of fact, we are starting our own bakery, catering to people following the Paleo/Primal diets. Drop me a line at Natures. Bakes@gmail.com if you would like more information....

I do not know the particulars of PaNu, nor do I know what you are eating, but I found myself insulin resistant and unable to lose weight until I limited vegetables and proteins. In doing so, I increased RAW fats. My protein is the best I can buy of grassfed beef, bison, and lamb; also good quality raw seafoods. My fats are egg yolk, animal fat (from above animals), with limited nuts and avocados. My only deliberate vegetables are kimchi (fermented greens). I understand that excess protein can store as fat, so I don't eat a whole bunch of it at one meal.

My experience says that the answer is No, because I take care to follow the best food ratio for me, and I eat all RPD. I think that the "harder for women" argument applies to people following high-carbohydrate/low-fat diets.

P.S. Ignore the paleo-bakery post.  Paleolithic people didn't have bakeries!
