Non-organic Grass Fed Meats
« on: September 25, 2010, 10:11:27 pm »
I have a friend whose wife has problems with gluten.

She is a cooking addict and makes quite wonderful dishes. She would be content to cook all day. She loves it.

I would like to introduce her to the idea of eating raw however I am concerned that where she lives I it is not possible to get anything organic or grass fed. They live in a northern isolated section of Canada. They eat a lot of wild caribou, trout, wananisch (land locked wild salmon) and moose.

So I am wondering, considering that now she is eating probably 20 - 40 supermarket meat anyway, is there any issues with eating it raw?
Cheers
Al

Why not just eat the wild animals that you already mentioned? Wild is superior to grass fed

You are right Kurite, I just know that they have the beef/chicken occasionally for variety.

I was a vege the time I was living there. With all the wild game just waiting to be harvested.  :o

It would be so cool getting some wild game out here, but not much to hunt. Chicken in total just isn't a great meat to eat raw because chicken is almost never fed a natural diet. As for grass fed beef, you could get them to order from slankers if they really get into paleo.

US farms don't generally sell abroad.

A few RVAFers have claimed that they know someone who got well on raw grainfed meats. 1 or 2 on this forum are like that. However, other RVAFers claim that it's much easier to get health-problems that way.  Certainly, eating aged grainfed meats or raw organs from grainfed animals is the most frowned upon.

I would suggest that they eat more wild game and make it raw(that is, try cooking it less and less until they are eventually used to it raw).
