Attention, zero-carbers!
« on: September 06, 2008, 06:48:34 am »

I have few quetions for zero-carbers :) Hope you would take few minutes to fill my curiosity.

1. For those of you who stayed low-carb or very low-carb for a while before going zero-carb, what was the difference that elimination of 20 or 30g carbs made to you?
2. Do you experience less carb craving, hunger, or obsession with food now that you're zero carbing?
3. How did your body composition change?
4. Did you lose or gain weight?
5. Does your weight fluctuate a lot now or is it stable?
6. Did you increase the amount of protein you're eating once you've gone zero-carbing?
7. If so by how much?
8. Do you mind sharing bout your transition period?

Hi

I've been all meat, zero carb for 3 months. My answers would probably not give you much of the information your looking for as it brought all my candida problems to the surface as soon as I cut out carbo's so it's been difficult.
1& 2) Candida affects your craving/hunger/obsessions so I can't give you a decent answer for the first 2.
3) Thicker upper body but Hard to tell now
4 & 5) Weight is stable. More dense, less water.
6) Definitely less protein maybe owing to a change in gut flora  and candida die off.
7) Well I would eat around 800 - 100 grams of ground beef before zero carb now I eat around 400-600grams.
8) I ate low carb 95% RVAF for 1.5 years with the occasional beers and junk food meals which were driven by social occasions and emotional eating/cravings. I went zero carb in 24 hours and it was and is difficult owing to this candida thing!

1.  N/A

2. A resounding YES!!!!!

3 & 4 Lost thirty pounds so far. I was at 210 from 235 for the longest time but am now 205 lbs. That could be due to an extra workload put on me recently. I feel denser and did notice clothes getting looser even after I'd stopped losing weight.

5. Stable for the most part, except for the last five pound loss recently.

6 & 7. If I understand correctly, you're asking about going from low carb to zero carb. If so, N/A. Either way, I'm not sure.

8. Don't mind at all. To save some time, read these links (which I have to get around to consolidating one of these days as well as writing something on IF. *I haven't forgotten Satya, just not much time*)

hi elli,

sorry, i don't do statistics

my background:
many years so called vegetarian (cooked grains & dairy)
4 years 100% raw vegan -- at 1st with lots of green star juices & lastly mostly fruitarian + cacao & coconut
both of the above = slow but sure path to suicide
6-8 months of brain washing: i.e. experimenting with & transitioning to animal food (including broths a la sally fallon)

my current foodstyle:
100% raw omnivorous 0 carb

nothing pre-frozen or heated
no tools but my hands & teeth, a small (ceramic) knife, a chinese stick for marrow, a screw driver & towel for oysters, 2 glass jars with attached vents for anaerobic fermentations, ceramic bowls from large to small, a bamboo cutting board, unbleached cheese cloth for cold infusions

0 cravings, lots of fun

the ecological food chain:
it's natural, easy
& it is fair
