Frozen suet
« on: February 13, 2011, 05:05:50 am »
I just went to my farmer and usually when I get suet they have nice 1lb packages but unfortunately all they had was 5lbs of frozen together suet. I was wondering the best way to break it apart without unfreezing? I was thinking of using a hammer.

I've always gotten 5 packages (smallest) too.  I let the whole thing thaw, cut it up, and refroze it because I didn't know how I could cut it up still frozen.  Let me know! :)

Actually, if I push down with a sharp knife on one of the ends, it tends to chip off a piece easily.
