What worries me re the above link is what  nasty chemical substitutes will be used to replace the salt.

Restaurants all load their food with salt and sugar in various forms. When you come out of a restaurant with a smile on your face and remark on how good it tastes, you have been bamboozled by a crafty cook who has loaded the food with a sauce that was full of these two flavours.

That's why I cringe at the prospect of eating out with friends. The combination of cooked food, sugar and salt will make me feel bad the next day generally.

However having said all of this, it is nice that your country is looking at reducing the salt content, but as you suggest, God only knows what they will replace it with.

Seems to me that HFCS was the result of a search for a cheaper form of sugar.
Cheers
Al
