Increased muscle soreness after eating meat
« on: October 27, 2011, 07:57:29 am »
Hi guys, recently I've been getting back into exercise - weights / circuit training & a bit of cardio & noticed that straight after eating meat my muscles become alot more sore than when I've been eating just fruits, veggies & nuts throughout the day.

I usually eat my main, large meal which is the only meal for the day that contains raw meat / lamb for the day before training (mid afternoon).
Then after that I just have fruits & veggies  / juices for the rest of the evening.

Then, the following day I will only consume plant based foods - veg juices - fruits & some almonds & my muscles
feel fine  with just a slight bit of soreness from the previous days' training - but within about 20mins of consuming my only meat for the day (kibbeh nayeh - raw ground lamb dish) my muscles get ALOT sorer.

If I stick to plant based foods only, the soreness doesn't increase.

What do you guys think this could mean?

Thank you

try spreading your protein out between at least two meals a day, this may help you.  for some overeating protein, ex, meat, creates a burden.   See Ron Rosedale's explanation as it relates to longevity.
