Phone Calls (fear off)
« on: March 11, 2012, 09:43:43 pm »
My Dad phones me.....probably................twice a year?

Scares the crap out of me, I'm waiting for him to tell me someones died. Just had an uncomfortable anxiety driven/awkard conversation where i swear he was going to tell me someone had died in a fireball.

I'm going to have to let him know. Teach him how to text...

Yes, I also have a phone-phobia. I always associate it with potential bad news. I so much prefer being e-mailed as I can then take the time to read and answer fully any queries, without me getting any jolts of adrenaline.

Mitu.

I used to be on call and late night calls meant rushing off to work to go somewhere to rescue some poor slob on the edge of life. Even day-time calls make me anxious. It's a bit like picking a scab...

I used to have a hard time turning down these all night trips, as I would feel like I was killing someone. Some of the guys did one too many and were so burnt, they did what they could to get out of doing them.

I am getting over it now. Still the phone is like a Pavlov signal to me. My heart jumps into my mouth.

Tyler, do you get such "jolts of adrenaline" also during your vegan or fasting days?

No.

Same here.

That is one reason why I usually don't eat red meat any more.

PS: For all others: No, I don't forget that some people seem to be able to feel relaxed and calm after eating red meat and fat.  ;)

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention at the time. I actually get such jolts regardless of what I eat.

LOL, I actually expected this answer!

But I doubt that you can get such nervousness after fasting 2-3 days...
