I've used a mixture of epsom salts with calcium chloride to make a mineral water. It tasted fine. Not sure how nutritionally valuable it was, as I couldn't notice a difference before vs. after substituting the recipe for normal purified water.

Epsom salts are a "known" fast-acting laxative, so find the right dosage carefully if you are using them as a magnesium supplement. <Gurgle, gurgle>

Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on your skin. It apparently absorbs better transdermally.

Exactly, If it's for magnesium, then dark greens are the richest source; like cilantro, broccoli, spinach....also almonds.

From the reading that I have done, magnesium is missing in foods nowadays due to modern farming methods such as fertilization etc. It doesn't show up in foods.

Now as to exactly or why I could not say, I am just parroting what I have read.

iv used epsom salts in a liver flush and found them to be extremely harsh. I would like to avoid them in the future (except in baths).

if u have to supplement magnesium how about some raw chocolate?

theres the cocao nibs iv had. They are raw. Very bitter. I drowned them in raw honey when I ate them.

Im already going to live at my friends farm upstate for a period of time. Keep us updated on your retreat and perhaps I will go there later or at least visit.

perfect glad you have a place to escape the nwo. im a little too close to vancouver and surrey for comfort but its next to a small river so as long as the water supply isnt poisoned i think ill be ok. ever thought of a mealworm farm as a sustainable paleo food source. you can feed them flax seeds,oats etc. they have per volume twice the protein of muscle meat and more vitamins/minerals...

Best to google it. There ae many mealworm farmers(sellers via the internet) and many books available. "minilivestock" is another name for it; also "vermiculure". How is your survivalist project going?
