Here is a clip from Consumer's Reports magazine that shows the rules for labelling chicken in the US.

BTW in fairness Canadian laws are probably equally as crooked.

So you want to buy chicken at a grocery store? Same goes for every other commodity.

Basically, if consumers rely on labels in the US to inform them on how their food was raised or grown, they are probably getting shafted.
