Organic apples and ANTIBIOTICS!!

This shit drives me crazy. After doing just a little research foods can be labeled organic and be sprayed with ANTIBIOTICS!! Btw this is only apples and pears not only did i find this out. The grass fed beef I'm buying from uruguay is probably using gmo grass, how is this shit even legal. There has to be something that can be done, btw this only took me around 5 minutes of research imagine all the other foods being contaminated.

The only apples I buy are from New Zealand (when available).

I heard from my sister in law that apple trees are common in some parts of the USA, so is it easy for you to get good apples in your area?

For livestock you really need to take time out and follow the meat you get from the butcher to his supplier to the slaughter house to the supplier / grower of the livestock, the trading / bidding... and where the livestock are actually raised.  Also buying an entire live goat or sheep is sometimes more practical just to be assured you yourself pick a healthy animal.

Yea I know what you mean it just seems like its getting to the point where it's getting hard to even eat healthy, I mean imagine in the next hundred years will we even have local farms to get food it just seems like there cutting us down and there isn't shit we can do. Btw anyone who post the organic apple and antibiotics aren't legal anymore. With some research and thinking, don't even have to imagine that much... Basically, you know diet and nutrition and health sector of our society is highly messed up. Extend the same to every single aspect of our society... the way we are raised and taught, the clothes we wear, governing systems, language itself, history, most "science", etc., etc... everything.
Then almost all of it is shown to us, if we first discover how messed up everything is, in a way as if it's done for money and because of money. Or because of "greed", or "human nature" while at the same time dismissing positive qualities of humans. But then money itself is just another lie. Where did it come from and why... so it goes deep. Money is not even natural here, it would and could not come to be naturally (if you know enough how life on this planet actually works), so this gives an indication where it is not from - not here, literally not from this planet. Which means and hints at quite many further things...
Lies under lies under lies. Strip them away layer by layer by looking from many different perspectives and connecting them all, and you'll find reality which sucks quite bad... And then, somehow, you have to live in it...

I guess I don't understand why you're surprised. Organic is a big market globally, as is grass fed. Of course industry will lobby to water down criteria for those labels so they can tap into those markets. What else would you expect them to do?

If you want good food, food that you know how it was grown or raised, you need to be involved in the process. Grow your own, buy or trade for food from neighbors whose farms and land you can visit, or hunt and gather it. Otherwise, you're gambling.

buy from small local farmers, eat apples only in season or buy in bulk and store them in a root cellar.  visit the farm, help harvest, become familiar with more farmers in your area.  if there arent local farms in your area, move.  i guarantee you there are good farmers out there that have the same concerns as you do.

I was told by my holistic doctor that the German organic certification was the strictest. So buy German!

Exactly. It's not like excessively scrupulous people seek out the pharmaceutical and corporate agriculture industries as possible career choices. You HAVE to be...morally flexible...to work at high levels in those areas.  Or, to put it bluntly,  selfish, greedy, narcissistic,  greedy, selfish...did I mention greedy?  Greedy as heck. Just all kinds of greedy. Selfish. Also greedy.

People don't only support local farmers because local farmers don't have everything on a year-round basis. Look at the topic of this post: apples and pears in the dead of winter. If you want an apple or pear right now(!), it is either imported or cold-storage, but how many people would go shopping where there was only fruit in season? Even CSAs in my area carry produce from their "partners" - certified organic producers in other parts of the world.

We could all do it if we make efforts to eat seasonally! Once I'm home this month I'm starting by only shopping at farmers market
