Brainwave entrainment products
« on: August 11, 2015, 07:29:13 pm »
I am looking into the alteration of brainwaves in order to improve my concentration among other things. I was a bit non-plussed to learn that the advent of the internet has shortened peoples' attention-spans including my own, so I thought I would try a particular product, namely neuroprogrammer 3.

It worked? Or was it mostly hype? It is just that some of the improvements claim to be increased longevity and greater intelligence, whereas more level-headed reviews claim only an increased ability to switch states of mind, greater concentration and the like. At any rate, I am not going down the holosync route, it sounds like a huge expense for too many vague guarantees.

The history is that it started as NASA-funded project to prevent the astronauts from seizures. For this, it worked, but the technical gear was too cumbersome to make it available to rest of us at that time.

I worked for a doctor who used it on his daughter when nothing mainstream worked to improve her conditions. She went from a few seizures per month to a few per year. This doctor then went on to open his own practice with it. Most of his 'patients' had autism though, so it's hard to get their feedback. The parents said they notice the difference, enough that they brought their children back even though I highly doubt insurance was covering the cost of sessions.

We did have one male adult, late 40's, extremely successful businessman, former MD, come in for improved concentration. He was skeptical at first, but didn't want medication. After a few sessions he said he was amazed how well it worked for him.

I never got a chance to play with it myself.

Thanks, it sounds worth it. I was just a bit wary after reading about claims of increased longevity and increased intelligence. Fewer seizures, better states of mind, better concentration sounds more realistic to me.

i guess increased longevity could be claimed if anxiety and seizure risk are decreased? Possibly increased intelligence is a stretch on improved attention, IDK?

Forgot to  mention, brainwave training also used by professional and elite athletes.
