Man goes barefoot permanently, as of 4 years ago

I am considering barefoot hiking myself   in the summer. I would be dubious about going barefoot on the streets of Vienna as many dodgy dog-owners allow their pets to crap on the pavements outside their flats, despite it being against the law.

After I came back from Polynesia, I started to walk barefoot everywhere in summer, even in town center. I also drove heavy trucks barefoot. But I've got fed up since people always stared at my feet, so now I wear shoes or slippers in town. Shoes also have the advantage of damping  the shocks on hard ground such as concrete or tarmac.

Still walking around elsewhere and driving barefoot when the soil is warm enough. Driving is safer so, there’s less mass on the feet: since they have less inertia they can be moved quicker from one pedal to the other and the pressure on them can be more precisely dosed.

Cause and effect are distant in time and space in complex systems, while at the same time there’s a tendency to look for causes near the events sought to be explained. Time delays in feedback in systems result in the condition where the long-run response of a system to an action is often different from its short-run response. — Ronald J. Ziegler

While I have used shoes most of the time, I would often get blisters while mountain-hiking. This was because I hadn't been informed that one's feet tend to expand when hiking, so that it's always best to get a size larger shoe. Worst of all, I have very wide feet and most  shoe manufacturers are useless to me. I have had even worse problems with skiing as skiboot manufacturers routinely ignore the fact that peoples' feet are very wide-ranging in their differences. Well, it should be fun to go barefoot in the next few months. I am told that there is a whole new world of sensation when one goes barefoot.

Or he can try wearing rattan slippers.  Or something with a material that does the same.

Shoes are important.  Even horses wear shoes if they are on mostly paved roads instead of soft dirt roads.
