Avoid public(chlorinated) swimming-pools
« on: September 23, 2017, 02:57:05 pm »
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-4910874/The-disgusting-risks-peeing-pool.html

One of the biggest problems with public swimming-pools is that they prefer to overly chlorinate their swimming-pools in order to avoid changing the water on a more frequent basis. This has led to me getting stark red , bloodshot eyes after swimming in such pools. Luckily, my local gym has an ozone-treated  swimming-pool, which has microscopic amounts of chlorine in it, not enough to cause trouble. The best pools, of course, are natural swimming-ponds, such as found on the outskirts of Vienna, Hampstead Heath in London etc. The key is to have wildlife there and have lots of reeds surrounding the pond's edges and lots of plants in the water itself. All this organic matter apparently recycles the urine etc. left by bathers, on a constant basis, so that these ponds tend to be cleaner than any unnatural pools found elsewhere.

I agree with you.  Never liked swimming pools, even those in private condominiums or personal houses.

Fortunately I live near enough in the mountains where the swimming pools are made from fresh running mountain waterfalls... truly a treat.

Swimming under waterfalls just makes me feel so cleeeeeaaaaaaaan!

It seems that saltwater pools are viewed as being less horrible than traditionally-chlorinated pools but not as good as ozone-treated pools.
